Or will you start opening in November?

Either way, it's not long now......time to make your choice (s).

Ugh to whiskey @Roundaboot! Yuck!

@OchonAgusOchonOh - I don’t have an empty one no but I don’t think that would work for me anyway. I kind of know what I have so none of it would be a surprise. I’ll make do with chocolate!

I always thought I hated whiskey. Then I discovered it's cheap whiskey I hate.

Re filling an empty box - there are obviously advantages to post-menopausal memory loss then as I can't remember anything.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 10/11/2023 10:50

I've just caved and ordered the Nuxe one from Look Fantastic, I love their products and at £74 it wasn't a bad price.

MavisMcMinty · 10/11/2023 09:59

I don’t much like Hotel Chocolat, although have bought their chocolate collections as gifts in previous years.

I’m a strawberry and orange creams from Quality Street fan.

Snap but ratio must be 2/3 orange.

Peridot1 · 10/11/2023 12:17

@OchonAgusOchonOh - I hate expensive whiskey too! And definitely have post menopausal memory issues. Just been away with my niece who was shocked I forgot DH’s name. I told her I often forget my own! But I tend to remember what’s in my stash for some reason.

Perfectly reasonable to foget his name. I do that all the time.

There are 3 AC that I'm waiting see if there are huge reductions on - Debenhams, Glossybox and Flannels. Flannels is unlikely given the issues with the fragrance crackers. Debenhams was about half price in December last year. I'm also keeping an eye on Anthropologie.

I've used an old 12 day box to make an AC for DH. He's into scootering/60's ska so it's filled with bits related to that, and little bottles of port

ACAC2023 · 10/11/2023 12:38

@LaBrujaPiruja I just received an email saying my Calendar is on it’s way from Vogue (I got it on Wednesday), they provided this email address for queries: [email protected]

Hoping, you may have had an update by now?

ACAC2023 · 10/11/2023 12:43

@MavisMcMinty@PomRuns I agree the Orange & Strawberry creams are my favourite Quality Street 🙂. Last Christmas I got a tin full of
just those 2 from John Lewis. They usually have a stall where you can choose your favourite 2? & fill the tin with just those!

I have already placed my order with my DC 😊
so perfect to be able to do in JL.

PomRuns · 10/11/2023 12:59

Ps also you can reuse your tin each year.

ACAC2023 · 10/11/2023 13:02

Yes I may try and get a refill this year. They are more expensive than the normal tins but they are bigger too. I haven’t been to John Lewis lately, hopefully they are still doing it this year 🙂

They are 😊 I saw last week.
yum.

Hi All, has anyone on here heard of the Cumbria skincare company called Bath House? It’s a sustainable and nature skincare company, I went in yesterday as I needed some hand cream as Loccitane had shut down in Cumbria.

They had their advent calendar advertised for £195.00 there were some great items in it and I was tempted as the hand cream is excellent but I don’t know much about the rest of the skin care and if it’s any good so thought I’d ask you guys if any of you have had any dealings with them? I might buy a couple of bits this next year and if it’s great buy it next year but I could be tempted now if it’s good stuff Grin

SwordBilledHummingbird · 10/11/2023 13:23

I finally made a decision and ordered the Diptique calendar. It's the most I've ever spent on an advent calendar but I'm really excited about it. I was a bit disappointed that the free gift with my first Diptique order is a scented notebook - what am I supposed to do with that?!? But you do get to choose two free samples with every order, so I chose two fragrance samples that aren't in the calendar, and they also had a code to get an additional two fragrance samples (which may or may not be in the calendar, I didn't check(. So I'm happy with that.

laclochette · 10/11/2023 13:25

@clowniform ooh that's a) good to know and b) cheeky. I think it was last year and a lot of the Liberty Beauty Drop members who bought it early with their £10 discount got annoyed, because we'd have been better off waiting for this offer. I wonder if that's why they changed it this year.

@OchonAgusOchonOh same! I've refilled my F&M box from two years ago and have literally no idea what is in it. DD what was laughing as she watched me do it (about a month ago....)

clary · 10/11/2023 15:32

Also thanks for the JLP heads up - I know it's not been loved this year but I actually really fancy the CT red palette and like the look of the fragrance too. Also love Neom and SUnday Riley GG. Tempting.....

pinkchampagne1 · 10/11/2023 15:43

I have the JL advent and think for £175 it is pretty good value. It has a nice mix of skincare, makeup and perfume with quite a few full sized products.

MidnightMeltdown · 10/11/2023 15:46

I noticed that Mintd have 2 variations of their advent calendar, where you can choose between some of the products, which is interesting. Instead of having the Barbara Sturm scalp serum, you can have the anti-aging serum.

I'm not sure whether they did this originally, or whether they updated it after realising that nobody wants a scalp serum!

itsalongwaybackfromsorry · 10/11/2023 16:33

I've been watching the John Lewis calendar and ordered it today after the 10% reduction came in. I can live with that. Figure the Vogue calendar isn't going to come down enough, if any, for me to justify it, and even if they did, I'd probably miss the offer as I can't order during the day.

I did the same with the Glossybox for my DD; £15 off made it more reasonable in my eyes for a teenager. She had one last year and loved it, and this one looks quite nice for her.

No update. I’m beyond angry.
I emailed them on Wednesday and Thursday.

ACAC2023 · 10/11/2023 17:01

@LaBrujaPiruja That’s really bad, they obviously have issues with Customer Service, I hope it’s just a delayed response. I’ve no idea why they’re just sending an email now telling me they’re about to deliver my Calendar, same tracking number as the one already delivered, obviously very disorganised! They’ve had months to get this together too!
