Having it done this Saturday. I booked it about 10 weeks ago, after dithering for a year or two. I'm almost 54 years old. Eek!

Hope that you are ok @CollagenQueen.

@CollagenQueen

Hi, just checking in to see how you're doing and hoping the healing is progressing nicely and you're feeling well.

Farmageddon · 18/11/2023 10:04

Hi OP, it's 4 weeks today post op, just wondered how you're doing? Hope the recovery is still going well.

SparklingLime · 23/11/2023 15:57

It feels a bit worrying that you haven't updated at all, @CollagenQueen. Is your recovery going OK?

MrsDotCotton · 23/11/2023 16:48

I agree with you @SparklingLime as OP did specifically ask for people to go on the journey with her. It's worrying. Hope you are well @CollagenQueen

Farmageddon · 25/11/2023 12:26

The OP has popped up on one or two other threads in the last few days so I think she's fine.

SparklingLime · 25/11/2023 16:47

Ah, I think the results probably aren't photo-worthy yet then.

CollagenQueen · 26/11/2023 10:54

Sorry guys, I had no idea there had been more comments on this thread.

I am good thanks - REALLY good in fact! Everything has healed up lovely. My eyelids are still a little swollen, but no one would know except me. Neck feels tight, but that's to be expected. All the bruising has gone now and stitches dissolved.

I went out last weekend with my new face (ha ha) and I felt amazing. I put make up on for the first time. I honestly feel like a new woman.

If anyone is thinking about this, I would 100% say Go For It.

But we need pix! 😛
Only if you want to, though. Glad you are well.

CollagenQueen · 26/11/2023 11:18

I didn't want to put my face up in public, but if anyone wants to see before and after pics, I'd be happy to send privately to your in-box.

Sorry, I really didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. That's fair enough.

madeinmanc · 26/11/2023 11:28

You should still take some measures like watermarking even if you PM them, IMO. You don't know whose hands they could fall into.

Treetoptara · 26/11/2023 11:29

I would love to see before and after @CollagenQueen if you are happy to pm me.
I'm in my mid 50"s and have been contemplating this for some time. I'm so glad that you are happy with the results.

CollagenQueen · 26/11/2023 11:54

Does anyone know how to send a photo in a PM?

OP posts:
wited · 26/11/2023 12:07

I'd love to see the photos but I would also advise you to be cautious who you're sending too. Anyone could be anyone on here! I'm
Glad it's gone well

Treetoptara · 26/11/2023 12:08

Sorry I don't know @CollagenQueen
Hopefully someone else will be able to help.

That's brilliant OP, I'm delighted for you.

Here are the BEFORE photo's :-)

You've already got your face on here!

Farmageddon · 26/11/2023 14:55

Can I ask about the healing time OP? You mentioned something about going back to work after a week or two, was that doable or would you say that you needed more time, like 3 or 4 weeks to feel/ look normal?

bronkie · 26/11/2023 14:56

@CollagenQueen you were the one who invited people to go on your journey with you so I don't know why you wouldn't think people would not be interested? It is of course up to you whether you show the after results and perhaps you should get the post removed.

Just re-read my post and it sounds a bit dramatic. When I said this, I meant some clinics have been known to scrape before and after photos to use themselves, that's all.

Neck pics.

I work from home (for myself) and I did start working again after a week, BUT, if you work outside of the home, I would book AT LEAST two weeks off work, and ideally three weeks. For a start, you have to wear a head garment for 2 weeks straight. I did nip to the shops with it on, I guess people probably thought I'd been in an accident or something. It was hard to drive for 3 weeks, as head turning was super stiff.

I'm still not wearing make-up, unless I'm going out. Which isn't often, tbh.
