Toddlerteaplease · 14/10/2023 21:18

A long black Hobbs dress.

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/10/2023 21:20

A cashmere jumper

mrsnancybotwin · 14/10/2023 21:23

Ralph Lauren winter coat. It will fit me this year Grin

dudsville · 14/10/2023 21:26

Nothing from me, why aren't you wearing your nice things!!! I did buy something in a stupid impulse a month ago. Took it to the charity shop today unworn. Lesson learned.

Ruthietuthie · 14/10/2023 21:26

A pair of Ferragamo shoes, the Vara pumps in red patent. I thought they would be classic, but a pop of color, and convinced myself that they actually fitted me. Every time I put them on, I realize that they are incredibly uncomfortable, squeezing my toes, plus falling off my heels to the extent that I can't actually walk. More than $800 just sitting there, unworn.

EraOfTheGrey · 14/10/2023 21:28

A silk dress from Toast and a pair of velvet silk trousers from Poetry. Both no longer fit me but are both just too gorgeous to sell. OH and a coat from Toast too.

ErcolSofa · 14/10/2023 21:31

I have loads
£800 Churches boots- only not worn as my other pairs are invincible and won't die.
Paul Smith raincoat- too good for the rain, too light coloured for the tube
Lods more_ I will wear them I just havent yet

MalibuBetty · 14/10/2023 21:32

A wedding dress I didn't slim into 😳

geminiflanagan · 14/10/2023 21:34

A £300 dress that I ordered from Australia and had to pay £90 customs on. I thought I would wear it to death, but I've worn it once. I feel a bit sick when I think about it.

IveHadItUpToHere · 14/10/2023 21:34

Most expensive unworn item - Ted Baker winter coat. DH bought it for me. It was too big. But then we had two family bereavements in quick succession so by the time I even thought about returning it, the shop wouldn't accept it. It's been sitting in its gift box ever since.
I also have an Anthropologie tulle dress - again, it was too big but I didn't return it in time.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/10/2023 21:35

A pair of Christian Dior boots that are so beautiful I'm scared to wear them in case I damage them.

I've had them for nearly 20 years...

Crikeyalmighty · 14/10/2023 21:40

A lovely Anthropologie dress which I bought in a size smaller, I'm now just fitting into it- so it's getting a wedding outing 2 weeks today

Isometimeswonder · 14/10/2023 21:41

Please wear your lovely things!
My friend had some shoess she was saving for her big birthday party... and she bloody died beforehand.
So I now say just wear the shoes, like a life lesson.
Wear them, enjoy them.

DiDonk · 14/10/2023 21:43

A Katherine Hamnett outfit I bought when I was a student on credit. I'm in my fifties.

SabrinaThwaite · 14/10/2023 21:55

A Laura Ashley ball gown that I bought for uni in 1989 - but no post grad balls so it never got worn.

If I lose 15 lbs and breathe in I’ll get back into it. Interestingly it is a size 14, but I think in current day sizing it would be more like a 10.

Guineapiggiesmalls · 14/10/2023 22:03

Burberry mac. Makes me look like a flasher

eurochick · 14/10/2023 22:06

A sparkly going out top that was delivered the week before Covid lockdown. I have since hit peri menopause and am not sure I will ever regain the figure to wear it.

Doggymummar · 14/10/2023 22:11

I bought a dress from John Lewis last year, size 20. It is miniscule. I am now a 14 and it still doesn't fit. I paid £200 and it is beautiful. I am wearing it this year whether it fits or not it pulls over my head so I can wear it, it just doesn't look optimal

WetsuitRevolutionary · 14/10/2023 22:13

A £500 scarf

Bonitalazenia · 14/10/2023 22:16

Mulberry Lily. Should have got the smaller one….

SabrinaThwaite · 14/10/2023 22:18

WetsuitRevolutionary · 14/10/2023 22:13

A £500 scarf

I’d be tempted to frame it and stick it on the wall and look at it.

minipie · 14/10/2023 22:20

A lovely ba&sh dress which is far too long for me but I realised there isn’t a way to take it up that much without ruining the shape and fabric pattern. It’s also if I’m honest a bit young/revealing for me. I really should sell it.

Fairymother · 14/10/2023 22:22

A pair of shoes i bought for £800. Made my feet bleed, so couldnt return. Only worn them once. They look so pretty on the shelf, so i cant really throw them away either 😅

mdinbc · 14/10/2023 23:09

I have a lilac blazer that I bought to match my mother of groom dress. The day turned out to be very hot, so the jacket was not worn, and I haven't had the occasion to wear it since. It was around $200 CDN, so about 120 GBP

It's not that it's unwearable, it's just I didn't have the occasion.

Why not take your coat to a tailor / alterations place and have it altered to fit?
