Mine. A black real leather dress.

A bat costume. My friend always has a Halloween party every year and a couple of years ago I thought I'll finally get ahead, plan my outfit and sort it all out in advance. She hasn't had the party since. I'm sure it'll come in handy...

TomatoSandwiches · 14/10/2023 23:22

A pair of Chanel glasses with a prescription that is no longer relevant and a Karen Millen Silk print wrap dress, it's very feminine and not my usual style... sometimes I wear it in the house but never out and about.

Most expensive unworn item - Ted Baker winter coat. DH bought it for me. It was too big. But then we had two family bereavements in quick succession so by the time I even thought about returning it, the shop wouldn't accept it. It's been sitting in its gift box ever since.
I also have an Anthropologie tulle dress - again, it was too big but I didn't return it in time.

I love a Ted Baker coat! What size is it-- I'm sure someone would give you a reasonable deal on it!

A lovely linen trouser suit in deep pink, bought just before covid . It looks great on, but I've had nowhere to wear it.

A pair of Christian Dior boots that are so beautiful I'm scared to wear them in case I damage them.

I've had them for nearly 20 years...

Wear them!
They are made to be worn. Wear and enjoy them! (I say this as the owner of a few quite pricey handbags that I use very frequently, in the belief they should be used, not parked away)

Mulberry Lily. Should have got the smaller one….

Sell it and get the smaller one!

Puritizer · 14/10/2023 23:54

An Alice Temperley dress.

falalalalal · 14/10/2023 23:59

A reversible sheepskin coat, 1.5k. I love it.

Alloveragain3 · 15/10/2023 00:00

A bespoke suit I got made in Thailand.

Have never needed a suit as I wear scrubs every day to work.

Oh my gosh WEAR THEM! Please.

I remember a colleague telling me her mother died and she had to clear her wardrobe after her death. So many unworn things with the label on being saved for best. Best never came. Wear them!

111111111a · 15/10/2023 00:12

For me - nothing. I genuinely don't think I've got anything I've never worn. I don't save anything for best anymore. I've worn crazy shit to the office that would otherwise sit there. Might be dead tomorrow.

MidnightMeltdown · 15/10/2023 00:29

A red dress that I bought when I was in my 20s because I thought that it was sexy.

I'm now cooler than the red dress. I know that I'm never going to wear it - but I spent £150 on it, so in my wardrobe it hangs.

GettingStuffed · 15/10/2023 10:40

Cheap compared to most but a green phase eight maxi dress , it has a short zip and can't get it over my boobs, but I've gone down a few cup sizes since I last tried it, from an HH to a G

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 15/10/2023 11:11

I'm going out on Friday, I'll wear the Christian Dior boots then, I promise!

Snowflake760 · 15/10/2023 11:18

Soft leather jacket, my first purchase after graduation 35 years ago. It haunts me and I’ve never been able to forgive myself or spend as much (even with Inflation again)

Greentrilby · 15/10/2023 11:37

alter, display or sell. Life is too short to have guilt in the wardrobe.
oh and don’t keep anything for best.

Makingplansfor2029 · 15/10/2023 11:41

A pair of £500 boots which are just beautiful and comfortable but they have a hidden wedge I didn’t realise and they make me far too tall and self conscious. I bought them because I was so excited to find such beautiful flat boots. I’ve worn them twice

Why haven't you worn it? I'd love one for our weather

ChristmasCrumpet · 15/10/2023 11:51

I've got an absolutely beautiful, but useless real fur coat, given to me by DM, and given to her by a billionaire, in the 70s.

It's so heavy, and hot, and people will just chuck paint at you, so completely unwearable. I darent sell it anywhere like eBay because a paint thrower type will buy it just to cut a hole in it and return it "damaged."

I just don't know what to do with it. Personal feelings on fur aside, it's from an era when fur was fine, and it's about as high quality you can get. Ideas would be gratefully received on the best way to sell?

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 15/10/2023 12:06

A Ghost top. When they were still lovely. I was thinner than I am now.

An All Saints leather jacket. It just feels so restrictive.

TheFormidableMrsC · 15/10/2023 12:40

All of you with expensive designer stuff sitting there, just sell it! Vestiare Collective is great for labels. Then buy stuff you will wear. It's daft to just let items sit unworn.

Edit: I see someone else has posted this too.

A top with corsage, would be good to wear with jeans. It was a tenner. Had it for a decade but only been out 5 times and none of them were jeans nights.
Hopefully I'll wear it when the dcs leave home and I have some time for myself.
