I've got an industry event and dress code is 'cocktail'

Does this work?

It is a lovely dress and the shape of an upside down martini glass so it's perfect!

KeepForgetting · 13/10/2023 13:22

Fabulous!

You look fab in it op.
I was thinking it was too short but after seeing you in it I think it looks great.

Seconded.

Oiyouoverthere · 13/10/2023 14:03

Looks better on you than the model.

FayCarew · 13/10/2023 14:09

Looks great OP. Shit fascinator though Wink

Year13novice · 13/10/2023 14:11

Yes it’s beautiful! I want it! You look stunning.

Lentilweaver · 13/10/2023 14:15

It looks great. And classy.

MysteryBelle · 13/10/2023 14:16

I’ve never liked dog collar tops or dresses, I think they look strange, usually unflattering, and send a weird message that I can’t figure out why anyone would want to send 😂 but I really like it otherwise and from the picture you posted, it looks great on you. I don’t think it’s too short. Enjoy the event, you look fabulous!

MysteryBelle · 13/10/2023 14:17

I agree it looks better on you than on the model.

Graciebobcat · 13/10/2023 14:53

Looks better on you at that length than the model! Perfect.

The only thing I would say is in my experience in construction people dress very casually. But you know the event better than me.

Pallisers · 13/10/2023 15:19

I was coming on to say gorgeous dress but I wouldn't wear it to a work cocktail event unless it was a really big awards event for example - on the model it looks more like the kind of thing you'd wear on a date. For work drinks/dinners I would not have exposed my shoulders like that or worn something so short (but then I am old and live in frumpy New England)

But it looks gorgeous on you and very suitable. I think it is because it is a tiny bit longer on you.

Wonderful.

Gorgeous dress + pockets! Love it. You look amazing. Have fun! 🍾🍸🍹

CinnamonJellyBeans · 13/10/2023 16:23

I also think it looks great on you

NashEnquirer · 13/10/2023 16:25

Underated comment, @FayCarew 😁

Love it, OP, looks great.

Yes you look lovely and I am someone that would tell you if it didn’t. Consider a wrap as it’s getting chillier. Just make sure you can walk in whatever heels you have.

It's an Australian website so if OP is in Aus, it won't be cold.
You look gorgeous OP 👗

rbe78 · 13/10/2023 16:38

Looks fabulous - I was also going to say a bit short for a works do based on the model pic (for which I would go mid-thigh to mid-calf for cocktail, as opposed to mid-thigh and above), but it is a good length on you. Deffo suits you better than the model!

StarlightLady · 13/10/2023 17:52

It's lovely OP. Are you OK braless or with a strapless bra though? I do braless on occasion but I've never found a strapless bra that is practical and comfy. But there again, I'm 36F upstairs.

Loopytiles · 13/10/2023 17:54

Looks great!

bengalcat · 13/10/2023 17:59

Drop dead gorgeous op

StasisMom · 13/10/2023 18:12

It's fab, you'll look amazing.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 13/10/2023 18:18

It's the epitome of a cocktail dress and you wear it beautifully.

Agree with @FayCarew about the fascinator though 😂

Letsnotargue · 13/10/2023 08:52

Lovely dress. Although I read the title as ‘cockerel attire’ and was expecting a cobbled together fancy dress outfit. Have to admit I’m a bit disappointed. And evidently I need more coffee.

Is that what one wears to a Hen Night?

PuttingDownRoots · 13/10/2023 18:34

Looks better on you than picture.

Re shoulders... I sometimes attend very formal, strict dinners. A few years ago shoulders were a big No... now absolutely fine. (No knees showing though... and no trainers has now been added to the dress code)

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 13/10/2023 20:11

It’s perfect 🥰.
