I keep seeing adverts for these. They look lovely and cosy but are they?

If not Nordic Socks, what would you recommend for cosy wool socks?

Nice, but not nearly as warm as M&S heatgen maximum. also only last about 1 winter.

Agree with pp. They are no longer wool and are quite uncomfortable/non stretchy.

Are they the pretty pastel coloured ones? If so they are a rubbish a copy of a better brand, not soft,not comfy,not nice!
They are poor quality.
Tkmax often have proper wool socks and m&s have cosy socks this time of year x

i keep being given them for Christmas! They aren’t wool but are quite comfy. I like finisterre wool socks

I found two companies when searching for Nordic socks. There's The Nordic Sock Company and then Nordic Socks.

The latter seems to be European based and made according to their website: www.nordicsocks.uk

The ones advertised all over social media are Chinese and only contain a tiny percentage of wool. Nothing Nordic about them, just clever branding...

As above, they’re not wool and you can find the exact same ones on AliExpress for a fraction of the price. Some of them go completely non-stretchy after washing too.
Look for real wool socks, much much better!

They're cheap feeling and badly made, the batch I got I couldn't pull over my feet they were do tight in the middle and I have narrow feet.

Expensive but worth it are Izzy Lane. Made in the UK from rescue sheep wool.

@bbcfolkie if you have then you will likely never need to buy socks again! Don't wash them too much as wool is self cleaning. My H and I have them and it's all we wear all winter - well we wear more than socks but you know what I mean 😂I'm going to buy the knee length ones for me too.

They are drop shipped. It's not a case of AliExpress sellers copying their designs although sadly that does happen to small businesses. Notice that nowhere on their website are they actually transparent about where the socks are made etc. They also delete comments on social media which mention drop shipping.

Basically if you like the designs of these, may as well buy them direct from China rather than the drop shipper and save money. The quality is the same (and not necessarily that great) because it's the exact same product repackaged.

Yep, and the Nordic socks ones are just the same. It's just clever photography I'm afraid.
