@Pinenu haha yeah i have! I am up all night right now with pregnancy carpal tunnel and my guilty pleasure is watching those damn unboxing videos... I feel like I know that lady "planning with crystal" better than I know my own family right now hahaha.

I don't love everything in the Sephora one but there's a few things in it: Kate Somerville exfoliater, REN eye cream, Elemis cleanser, aromotherapy associates that I actually buy regularly anyway so thought it made the most sense for me - I also really want that 'Milk' perfume as I had tried Commodity perfumes before and loved them.... but then I remember it is £190 and idk I think that's a hell of a lot of money, I think we become densensitised to what is a lot of money with these calendars don't we!! Haha

Pinenu · 22/10/2023 10:46

😂 the videos are addictive aren’t they. I think I might prefer watching unboxings to actually owning the calendars.

Oh no now you’ve made me tempted by Sephora again. I’m ashamed of how easily I’m led.

Butterfly44 · 22/10/2023 10:52

@Branster thanks for those instructions! Just done my very first TikTok purchase and bought Sarah Josell one :)

SatsumaNightmare · 22/10/2023 12:01

I’m hoping we get some bargains and they aren’t selling that well. Maybe I just have calendar fatigue from last year (I had way too many) but I’m not very impressed with what they’re offering (same old same old) for increased prices.

PokeyLaFarge · 22/10/2023 12:11

Just bought the next beauty Advent

It's was £95

I know there will be some things I'm not keen on, but dc2 will happily share the bounty ☺️

HollyGolightly4 · 22/10/2023 15:37

Is anyone tempted by the look fantastic chest? I don't know if I prefer it to the calendar!

There's a few discounts on there today, especially if anyone is a subscriber.

pinkchampagne1 · 22/10/2023 16:35

Ohh, what are the LF discounts?

Couperi · 22/10/2023 17:01

I'll keep an eye on Sephora to see if that gets reduced, it's the only one that's got much in I want. Liberty was a disappointment again this year so I've still got my beauty drop credit to spend.

HollyGolightly4 · 22/10/2023 17:53

pinkchampagne1 · 22/10/2023 16:35

Ohh, what are the LF discounts?

£15 off men's

  • range of discounts on other brands - a Nordic one I'd not heard off did tempt me!
clary · 22/10/2023 18:17

Ooh @HollyGolightly4 was the Nordic one Lumene? I had that a couple of years ago and liked it. Bit samey but nice products

enchantedsquirrelwood · 22/10/2023 19:05

The Liz Earle 12 days of Christmas one looks quite good. Pity there's no haircare in it. I've already got the Lumene one now anyway.

Yes, it was!!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 22/10/2023 19:37

@HollyGolightly4 - I had the lumene one a few years ago. It is lovely stuff but the sizes are tiny and it does get a bit samey.

I would say it's overpriced at full price but I got a reduction and a GWP from Beauty Bay (I think).

The Kate Somerville exfoliate is amazing

QueefofSheena · 22/10/2023 20:50

I ordered the Flannels fragrance crackers for me & DH as a
stocking presents a while back. We are away over Christmas so we can use the various matching scents (like saddos 😁) without having to bring anything else with us. I'd buy the cracker advent if it gets reduced enough. Last year's AC was amazing at the discounted price and it came wrapped in a suit bag that I've used loads since.

I always put something in my stocking for myself as it's a total lottery if I leave it to DH and the DC. Last year I gave myself a cow alien abduction toy thing 😂

hahah @OchonAgusOchonOh it was you that made me buy this the other year Grin well I say "made" maybe "inspired" is more accurate

I did find the tiny sizes good actually a) for travelling and b) for the satisfaction of clearing another empty for the other thread! Not the best VFM tho true. I love a few Lumene items like the oil/serum mix that was in last year's JLP AC.

Oops. It is lovely stuff though. I'm a convert to their foundation. It's really light and natural looking, although it is very pale. I'm usually a medium but need to mix medium and dark to get the right shade.

I just had a look and it's reduced to half price on LF. I was getting very tempted until I spotted the "Sold out". Ah well.

clary · 22/10/2023 21:06

@OchonAgusOchonOh Oh no not oops! I forgot I also loved their vit C cleanser - must RP (glances at stash...)

Which foundation do you mean - I am almost out and I really don;t have any in my stash!

MavisMcMinty · 22/10/2023 22:13

Oh dear, just had an email about the Liberty jewellery calendar, and wondering if I don’t touch my BD credit for the next three years perhaps I’ll be able to afford it in 2026.

LadyLapsang · 22/10/2023 23:57

If you don’t count the sock advent from White Stuff, bought with a very nice pair of wool llama socks for £10, I haven’t weakened on the advent front, however, I said the same last year and ended up the Liberty jewellery, two Net a Porter and J Lewis.

Peridot1 · 23/10/2023 08:36

I am not tempted by any of the calendars now. I succumbed to buying another Caroline Hirons kit this week. It’s a Non Advent Advent Kit - 9 full size products. Had a couple of things I really wanted to try and the Charlotte Tilbury lip oil that I use anyway and am nearly out of so I justified it as a good buy. And I’m going to the States next week and will no doubt buy stuff there. So I really really don’t need a calendar. But what will I do every morning in December???? I don’t think a chocolate one will cut it!

pinkchampagne1 · 23/10/2023 13:41

If you spend £80 on Clarins at John Lewis you get a gwp worth £95. The Clarins calendar is only around £65 though so you would need to spend a little more

Possimpible · 23/10/2023 14:00

@Peridot1 Could you join the threads on here and live vicariously through others?? Half the time I find the threads more fun than getting the stuff

Got emails this morning saying both the LiB and TWC calendars are 'going fast!!' with codes to take them both from £175 to £150ish. Those discounts aren't new, but I wonder if we might start seeing better discounts soon. Neither of them are worth even £150 for me.

TooningOut · 23/10/2023 14:15

@Peridot1 @DollyDaisyDo thank you! thought it was way too early for it to be sold out.
