@faffadoodledo thank you. She’s been bed bound for over 10 years. Even moving to a different room in same floor is so tough. She wanted to come down the previous year but covid floored her. It was truly the best Christmas present I have ever received

It's very me. You should have seen me on NYE at a v relaxed dinner. Jeans and a lovely new floppy finisterre sweater. I should have snapped it. I will one of these days.

Hope everyone had a lovely Hogmanay/New Year. I did nothing, and we have had family over so have been very lax with the pics, lol. Mainly dressed in dog walking gear, or slobbing around the house. Back to the reality of work soon though!

Thanks everyone, we are fine in Tokyo. What a start of the year, 2 days of strong earthquakes in the north and now 2 airplanes have collided in Haneda.

DH's brother and his wife (they got married a week ago) have visited us for the first time today. Sister-in-law seems to be an ideal Japanese woman, puts food on her husband's plate before herself, wakes up 4 hours before him to clean the house, asked me many times if there's anything she can help me with & is just generally acting extremely nice. We had lots of fun today playing Momotetsu (kind of like Japanese Monopoly)

Thank you everyone. I love it so far but I'm having a bit of a culture shock which was expected as I've only ever worked in Japanese companies before and this is an American-owned company. The culture is quite different and I feel like I miss the aerospace industry a little bit but the change is for the best.

I'm WFH today, wearing the same trousers as yesterday just in a different colourway.

Great suit and boots yesterday @toucaninjapan, hope new job goes well. I am WFH today - got loads done this week as so many folk are still off. For some reason I can’t post todays pic, will try again later maybe. Weather here is rubbish, cold and wet. I cheered myself up with some bits from the sales - oops.

Pic finally appeared - seem to be having some WiFi issues! Not that it’s worth waiting for, lol - dog walking and report writing day mainly. Dress is an All Saints with a jumper from Forbidden Tribes. Old, dog walking boots are from Schuh!

Boots were essential today. There is so much water everywhere - even my diversion away from the main road (closed due to flooding) took me through floodwater.

Sorry if I missed - why is there so much water near your office @OublietteBravo ? What caused the flooding?

Just a basic outfit for me today. When I discovered Sezane and heard that Sezane cardigan was their most popular item, I thought I'd never wear it because it was too simplistic for my taste, and now I own it in 7 colours 🙈 I have recently started wearing lacey tops underneath them so that the lace pops out just a little bit but enough to take away any grannyish vibes

@toucaninjapan - we’ve had a lot of rain. Over 80% of the average January rainfall by lunchtime yesterday (it rained yesterday evening, and it’s raining again). It rained a lot in December too, and the soil round here has a lot of clay in it, so once it is waterlogged any rain just runs off. The main road I usually take to get to work was closed due to flooding. Even the diversion route involved driving through 3 lots of floodwater (I live less than 10 miles away from work - it isn’t a long journey).
