Hope you had a lovely birthday @OublietteBravo. WFH today avoiding going out in Storm Agnes, and just had numerous meetings moved as two of my colleagues have flippin Covid. Deja Vu…?

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I managed to drag DH and DS away from the rugby for long enough to go out to our favourite Thai restaurant!

We have people off with covid too. Quite a few who’ve never had it before. I’m mostly in the office at the moment, and really hoping I don’t get it.

Congratulations, and thank you for the compliment @toucaninjapan . I think that my cardigan is getting smaller with every wash, but I daren't part from it.

Yesterday skirt white stuff, cardigan fat face. Turned out very mild after a cold start. Difficult weather to dress for!

Early 80s dress an eBay bargain of £4. Although it stank when it arrived! Smells lovely now after a good wash. The risks of eBay unfortunately.

The weather is rather more autumnal than I was expecting. Fortunately I brought a raincoat.

Agree with the autumnal feel to the weather. I think it is what caught us out here.

Staying in comfy mode

I'm trying to wear my summer clothes one last time before putting them away for next year. Dress white stuff, cardigan jigsaw.

More office wear. (I’ve brought layers, as I have no idea what the office temperature is likely to be on any given day). The weather is actually very still and calm - I can only assume Storm Agnes is waiting to make an appearance when I’m out with the running club at lunchtime!

I've just popped into Seasalt in my lunch break and picked up these lovely dark green cords - cropped flare. Absolutely love them. Very autumnal!

What do you lovely lot think (honestly) of this dress for a November wedding? Obv I'll wear magic knickers with it ti smooth things out a bit. It'll be quite a traditional wedding so I'm wondering if there's too much black. I wore black and red to my son's wedding so personally wouldn't be offended. But what do you think?
I'd like to find a faux sheepskin cropped jacket to wear with it so bonus points if anyone can point me in that direction!

I'd have posted more generally in S&B but have noticed things can get spatty quite quickly on the subject of wedding guest garb. And these threads are always gloriously free of that sort of thing x

It's a lovely dress @faffadoodledo and personally I think it's perfect to wear as a wedding guest. Mumsnet is the weirdest place on the planet when it comes to wedding guest etiquette threads so probably wise not to open that can of worms on another thread. I love it. It would actually look really great with some knee high leather boots and agree a cropped jacket will be prefect.
