How much do you expect to pay for a cut and colour?

I have medium, not quite shoulder length hair and just paid £220 for highlights and cut. Excellent quality work, she did a really good job understanding what I wanted when I didn't really know myself but fuck me, that feels expensive no? I'm not in London but not in the north either. I have also really struggled to find a good hairdresser, this is the 4th salon in the area i've tried. They all seem expensive and with cost of living increases maybe this is normal? Cripes.

It's a salon. I don't get my hair coloured or highlighted, but if I did, it would still be sub £100.

Have you tried a salon academy/training school? Vidal Sassoon, Joshua Galvin (central training academy), Philips hair salons etc? I used to go to one between zone 1-2 and it was about £12 for a wash/cut/blow dry and I think highlights were £30. The students are closely monitored and I've had much better results there, than in a regular salon! The only downside was that it often took longer, so I'd take a book.

£140. Half head of highlights, Olaplex, cut and finish. NorthWest. Hairdresser works at home. Saw someone on Tiktok pay $800 in NewYork for almost the same. I was shocked!

Mine is around £220 too, full head of highlights and a cut. The bit that irritates me is my hair is pretty short and thin now, but it still costs the same amount yet takes a fraction of the time it used to take to do it.

I pay £150 for full head highlights cut and blow and toner. I thought that was expensive but she has recently put her prices up to £230 for this and there is no chance I can afford that.

Salon, mid-range stylist is about £100 for cut and colour. But it think it's probably more like £120 now as prices recently went up.

It's an extra £30 for olaplex at my salon.
