Thank you, as always, for the thread @Maireas. Flowers

Now that I’m here...I missed you all during the Coronation. And I’m still cross at the distinct lack of tiaras!! Angry Angry

Catherine taking part in a Dad Walk in the local park during a visit to "Dadvengers", a community for dads and their children, in Arnos Grove, north London

Maybe it is because I am a second child ... Our local 'big house ' family has four daughters. One will inherit, that's the way it is!
Camilla and the elephants are excellent! Didn't her brother work with a wildlife charity?

Maireas · 01/11/2023 16:39

That little girl Kate is with is so cute!

@eggandonion I probably sounded more emphatic than I had meant to! Of course it's quite reasonable to identify with/feel sympathy for a certain position.

gluenotsoup · 01/11/2023 17:19

ooh, I do like that jumper- in fact, the whole thing of jumper, jeans, boots , jacket, a bit of glam in the hair department… very normal and attainable.
I’m going to see if it can be tracked down 😬

ArcaneWireless · 01/11/2023 17:42

I’m loving all the wee patterns she’s wearing Maireas - it just enhances her beautiful little face 😊

Maireas · 01/11/2023 17:49

I know! Sometimes with wee ones you try to stop them wearing 15 different patterns, but they're hard to dissuade and look so cute!

I love Kate’s jumper too. It’s Erdem, cashmere, and from a couple of years ago, so sadly no longer available.

Papergirl1968 · 01/11/2023 20:04

I must watch Downton again, @Maireas - I've forgotten a lot of it. Thanks for the reminder, that will get me through the dark winter nights.

Maireas · 01/11/2023 20:07

@Papergirl1968 - I have it all on dvd and last winter watched it all again, from the start. Brilliant.

The Gilded Cage on Sky is also good - it's Downton set in a developing New York.

Maireas · 01/11/2023 20:08

I've not heard of The Gilded Cage, I'll look out for it. I like most historical things!

gluenotsoup · 01/11/2023 20:23

Ah, thank you Serenster! We do seem to like the same things 🙂, I’m pretty sure I’ll find a similar one somewhere. I quite like the fact that it’s Erdem 😆

The Gilded Age. The costumes are just wonderful!

Maireas · 01/11/2023 20:25

Oh, right, thanks @KillingMeDeftly

I'm sure it would be fairly easy to find a similar striped cashmere sweater.

SenecaFallsRedux · 01/11/2023 21:08

Another vote for The Gilded Age. It is really well done and, as in Downton, it's worth watching for the costuming alone. It's set in a very interesting period in American social history, and among other things, features middle class professional African Americans, which is historically accurate, but woefully ignored in much of what is written about that era.

KnickerlessParsons · 01/11/2023 21:18

*Age, sorry, yes. Age not Cage!

KillingMeDeftly · 01/11/2023 21:58

Someone on Instagram has compared Leonor's oath-taking with Felipe's. Queen Sofia's hair has not moved an inch since that day and the Infantas' 80s gowns are something else!

Maireas · 01/11/2023 22:12

Nice pictures. Sofia's hair looks exactly the same! The Infantas dresses have a touch of the Fergie, don't they?
Felipe was a nice looking young man, I didn't realise how much his daughters actually look like him.

OP posts:
Papergirl1968 · 01/11/2023 22:38

Pretty sure I had a bridesmaid dress like the infantas when I was about 12!
Camilla has been taking hints on literal dressing from Kate with today's choice of a frock with a giraffe feature for her visit to the wildlife orphanage. Another cream dress for doing a spot of shopping at the market.
Also Max dressing unusually subdued for her.

Oops, sorry, I think the giraffe dress was for the market trip, and a green patterned dress for the wildlife orphanage.
