What are you wearing around the house . . .

That's not a fully dressed outfit like jeans/top etc and isn't leggings/gym wear.

I'm looking for inspiration to be dressed on the days I'm not really going anywhere but need to nip to the school, shop for milk etc.

Gym leggings etc aren't comfortable on me (tried many brands).

Does anyone have any inspiration or do I have a non problem and need to just get dressed properly each day.

Another vote for PJ bottoms and an old baggy t-shirt. Fine for zoom calls as I position the camera from the shoulders up.

fruitpastille · 14/09/2023 16:08

M&S cargo trousers or Next jersey joggers and a vest are comfy and I can put a denim jacket over if I go out and want to look ok. Personally I find jeans and jumper are comfy too.

Leggytigberk · 14/09/2023 16:55

Just back from office and serious meetings. About to take off Office Professional, shower and slip into something more comfortable. It will be a soft unwired bra then my White Co soft linen shirt long sleeved, might need a Tee under it. Soft skirt mid calf. Slippers for comfort or trainers if anyone calls.

Ladyoftheknight · 14/09/2023 18:27

Flared leggings or yoga pants with a matching colour slouchy jumper or tight fit t shirt. Cropped boxy t-shirt with tight leggings. Occasionally wide legged drawstring trousers.
Also all 4 colours of this romper got me through the summer. Their size 6 was massive on me so if you're a 2/4, be prepared for a loose fit

Fuck getting dressed properly everyday!

VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia · 14/09/2023 18:42

Usually a tracksuit, as in joggers and matching jacket or hoodie. I have fleece-lined ones for winter. You can get joggers without the ankle cuff if you don't want a 90s "shell suit" silhouette. I wear this with the next clean t-shirt off the top of the stack. It's warm, comfortable, and suitable for the supermarket.

StoatofDisarray · 14/09/2023 19:00

I'm currently wearing a pair of loose black bamboo linen blend trousers from Movesgood, a grey krautrock T-shirt, no bra and old grey Allbirds tree skippers.

Movesgood are great and so are Allbirds. I also recommend going braless!

I do the school run and pick up half the week, I also get bits of shopping and work from home and am in several calls. I always get fully dressed each day - trousers, nice loose T-shirt, comfy but smart plimsoles, earrings. I just can’t do sportswear or pjs. Putting trousers and a T-shirt on doesn’t take much effort.

KatGirl007 · 14/09/2023 21:08

I am wearing a kaftan, colors are red, black and white. I feel pretty in it while I am working from home two days a week. I have two others that I switch up with.

Icouldabeenalawyer · 14/09/2023 23:00

I like Arne women's

Icouldabeenalawyer · 14/09/2023 23:01

I like arne women's tracksuit. I've got a few. The slin fit joggers are a bit smarter looking than the cuffed joggers but still comfy.

I just get dressed in my clothes whether I am going out or not. I should say that my clothes are all fairly casual - jeans and a jumper etc.

In the evenings I wear my PJs, or joggers.

EconomyClassRockstar · 14/09/2023 23:16

There is a woman on TikTok I'm kind of obsessed with who lives in this beautiful old house in the NY burbs and wafts around all day in kaftans/robes/etc. She always looks amazing. In reality, I would fall down the stairs on a daily basis tripping over the hem, hence I wear Lululemon and sneakers 😀

I'm autistic and a lot of clothes are quite uncomfortable for me. The trackies are about comfort, not laziness.

I've given up completely with underwired bras because they outright hurt even though I get professionally fitted by Bravissimo.

I wear a merino wool dress. It wasn’t cheap but it’s very comfortable and rarely needs washed .

saoirse31 · 15/09/2023 05:22

Dark blue shorts and t shirt... but weathers now changed so light trousers, t shirt and hoody to go out

Mummyoflittledragon · 15/09/2023 05:50

Maxi T-shirt dresses. Mine are longer than this and come from Dorothy Perkins with more a boat neck as they suit me better than this, but they stopped doing them so I trawl eBay and vinted. I also sleep in them and have several, which I wear to death due to finding replacements difficult. Layer up in the winter with a dressing gown. Sooo comfortable. https://www.next.co.uk/style/ls385958/k58388#k58388

Wide leg jersey trousers with a tshirt or jumper

Loose cuff leg cami style jumpsuit

Joggers and a hoodie if I don't mind what I look like.

RedDogRobinHood · 15/09/2023 07:11

A pair of comfy loose jogger bottoms and a vest/t-shirt if you're warm and on colder days just add a baggy hoodie.

I'm sure you can pick up a few different coloured variants fairly cheaply too if you wanted to mix it up a little.

Job's a good 'un! 👍🏼 😊

radiantorange · 15/09/2023 07:15

Oh I get you, the trousers I wear are all elasticated waist, loose fitting but smart. I spent 18 months in lockdown wearing leggings and baggy tops, I gained lots of weight without realising, but now I always feel like I’m being judged when out and about and so I need to get dressed to feel good - if that makes sense?

petitdonkey · 15/09/2023 07:52

I love a house dress!! There’s a brand called Natalie martin which I stalk on preloved or sales. I have three of the fiore dresses and love to wear them when I’m at home.

Its not really 'lack of effort' is it... putting on a tracksuit is equal in effort to putting on trousers and a t-shirt.

You haven't in any way exerted more energy or put in more effort you just wore a different style of clothing and now act like that makes you 'better than'. It does not (and no I don't wear tracksuits, if you look at my earlier post I dress pretty similar to you most the time).

radiantorange · 15/09/2023 11:55

@housethatbuiltme I don’t wear what you wear actually. And I didn’t mention lack of effort? If you’ve read it that way maybe you’re feeling insecure? OP asked what we wear around the house. I answered.

Trousers and t-shirt is literally what I wear most days... god you sound like an insufferable snob.

I just can’t do sportswear or pjs. Putting trousers and a T-shirt on doesn’t take much effort.

You literally did mention your level of 'effort' no one 'made it up'.

You also didn't just answer the question, you made wild assumptions and threw insults at other people completely unnecessarily (and STILL are) when no one asked your opinion on what OTHERS wear.

I'm in no way insecure, your desperate need to put others down to feel you are better than them is very telling of your own security though.

radiantorange · 15/09/2023 12:13

@housethatbuiltme honestly I’m baffled by the aggression. Chill out.
