What shop are you loving at the moment?

It’s gotta be Mango for me! I don’t think I have worn a pair of jeans as much as I have worn their Sienna jeans. I love their Bretton tops and their current cardigans with their Chanel esq vibe. I think that the quality is better than Zara too and things look nicer in comparison.

Just googled those jeans - they’re gorgeous. Which shoes do you wear with them? The models are wearing them with kitten heels? Do they look good with trainers?

Pigeon31 · 29/08/2023 08:36

Liking Fatface at the mo - some really nice linen shirts and dresses in the sale.

Haretest · 29/08/2023 08:46

Oh I had no idea mango were so size inclusive!!

I see a shopping spree coming on!

EllaPaella · 29/08/2023 09:02

Ooh I've just ordered a pair of those jeans a few days ago and hoping they'll arrive today. Got to say I really like Mango but haven't always found the sizing consistent so prefer to go in to an actual shop so haven't been in very often. Zara always make their clothes look amazing online but the reality in my experience is the quality is crap, thin material and sizing all over the place.
I've lived in jeans, shorts and vest tops this summer and have been mostly buying on Vinted so haven't really got a favourite go-to shop at the moment. I'm here for the inspiration!

EllaPaella · 29/08/2023 09:04

@WhatFreshHell1 i'll be wearing mine with flat tan leather sandals, a black block heel sandal and in autumn/winter black DM style boots.

minipie · 29/08/2023 09:16

I love allll the dresses at Reformation but don’t have the budget, lifestyle or supermodel body…

hdbs17 · 29/08/2023 10:51

What's the sizing like on Mango jeans? I've never really looked at them before but actually - they're exactly what I'm looking for!

dontgobaconmyheart · 29/08/2023 11:15

I found the Sienna jeans looks a bit daft on me, I think they were a bit short on the leg for me (albeit im only 5ft 5 and a bit) and thinking ahead to autumn winter I don't think I'd have got any wear out of them at all as they looked a bit comical (on me anyway) with boots - nice with sandals for summer though.

I do rate Mango for coats, they're often good quality, and I also like their knitwear.

I always flit between shops, I never find any one place that's great - inconsistent sizing and quality is an issue across the board so it always seems to be a case of hunting out a gem or two between the rubbish.

Lovetotravel123 · 29/08/2023 11:29

Oliver Bonas. I love colour 🙂

KirstenBlest · 29/08/2023 11:36

I avoid Mango because I once went into a shop and everything I looked at was badly made. It might just have been coincidence.

Looked at the Sienna jeans and they look nice apart from the length. I hate trousers and jeans that aren't full length. If I wanted to, I could roll up the length to show off my boots (I have lots of ankle boots).

clowniform · 29/08/2023 11:37

COS! I've fallen back in with it after many years' estrangement. Finally they've started doing tees in cuts I like (clean cut, full volume, high line) and returned to better fabrics (lots more natural fibres). I've also bought 2 jackets, a skirt and a dress this season, which is pretty much unheard of since learning to sew.

staycaysandvacays · 29/08/2023 11:46

Reiss! My absolute fave. Also bought a couple of reformation dresses recently and they are stunning and great quality. Love mango too. I like Cos too so planning to pick up a few pieces from there but going to wait for the season to change

CoteDOpale · 29/08/2023 12:03

Massimo Dutti (from your OP it sounds like you might like them too). Owned by Inditex (same as Zara) and similar in style but more classic, less edgy. Some really nice pieces.

Uniqlo. Probably 75% of my wardrobe, best basics, great T-shirts, tops, leggings, thermals, coats.

Oddly, some Abercrombie. They’ve rebranded a bit as their original audience are now grown up and the jeans are absolutely magic.
The Curve Love line is life changing - you buy your normal waist size (which has a fairly decent range, starts at 23” and goes up to 37”), but they add an extra 2” to the hip/thigh/butt area. Good range of lengths too, extra short, short, regular, long and extra long.
I’m 5’1” with quite a small waist but carry weight below it, so can be quite awkward. These are the best fitting jeans I’ve ever had.
Their bodysuits and layers are great too and not a moose logo in sight!

BansheeofInisherin · 29/08/2023 12:09

I don't seem to be liking any shop entirely. Bought bits from Mango, Hush, John Lewis, M and S, Zara lately. I usually like Cos and Massimo, but havent found any thing there I like for quite some time.

Considering buying a dress from Aligne.

jay55 · 29/08/2023 12:31

I've bought a loaf of stuff from Tommy Hilfiger outlet recently. Not my usual place to shop at all.

IsAnybodyListening · 29/08/2023 12:32

FatFace. Just got a couple of maxi dresses half price instead of 70 each.

Niftythrifter · 29/08/2023 12:33

@WhatFreshHell1 I wear them with Converse shoes and high tops. They are more like full length jeans on me as I am petite.

OP posts:
Niftythrifter · 29/08/2023 12:35

@BansheeofInisherin I was tempted by those cardigans. Mango also have some sort of purchase/ reward system whereby you gain money off that you can take off you next purchase whenever!

Prettybubblesintheair · 29/08/2023 12:56

Do the mango sienna jeans have any stretch?

TheOGCCL · 29/08/2023 14:21

Mango for me too. I like the way they still sell relatively normal clothes (T-shirts, jeans, cardigans, blazers, trousers). Their website is a bit of a mess, though no worse than Zara. I’d be lost without them.

staycaysandvacays · 29/08/2023 15:09

@TheOGCCL have you tried the mango app? It's really easy to use

minipie · 29/08/2023 15:10

I’m going to nominate H&M (and their sister &Other Stories) and La Redoute because although there’s an awful lot of stuff I don’t like, you can filter by material and they do a lot of items in cotton or linen which is hard to find elsewhere.

Wizadora25 · 29/08/2023 15:12

Fatface and M&S

staycaysandvacays · 29/08/2023 15:16

Agree with & Other Stories! Great quality and I like the timeless cuts
