Overnight make-up?

daniellexoxo · 18/08/2023 16:14

Planning a weekend break with new(ish) bf and of course want to wake up looking better than I would if alone IYSWIM.
Looking for ideas of some light transfer-resistant make up (especially concealer, blush and eyeliner) that might last overnight if I apply it fresh before bed. I don't really want to go down the route of semi-perm or tatooed on make up.
Please, not replied about how bad this is for me skin, I know already :/

Hi @daniellexoxo
I totally hear you hun!
I put on overnight makeup when i first got together with my husband.
I would wash my face so i have nothing on at all. Then i would apply a bit of blush and a pinkish lip liner but kind of smudge on the lips. I'm a side sleeper and honestly i'd wake up and it was still on and looked really natural. Have a lovely weekend break xx

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/08/2023 17:04

I doubt it's that bad for your skin as a one off but I'm sure he'll just be delighted you're with him and at what point will he see you without make up?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/08/2023 17:07

Estée Lauder Doublewear foundation doesn't shift, that could be used as a concealer, they do one but I've never tried it so can't recommend it.

cocksstrideintheevening · 18/08/2023 17:21

So presumably you're imaging shagging, then going to the bathroom to remove and reapply makeup? Really?

TheGoodBanana · 18/08/2023 17:23

I use ester Lauder double wear and Mac fix plus. My make up is perfect the day after a night out, I never bother washing my face after a few Blush

DatumTarum · 18/08/2023 17:24

He's got to see you without makeup at some point, might as well be now.

Men don't really give a shit, trust me

This. I sometimes get too tired after a night out and wake up as fresh looking as this is the makeup I wear! I would put it on at say 5pm and by 11am it is still on unless i take it off.

This is a bonkers thread but if you're really that bothered -
Get a lash lift and tint and eyebrow tint ?

Dreemhouse · 18/08/2023 18:52

Imagine berating someone because they lack confidence. Ignore them OP, there’s definitely others who have been there. I’m sure he won’t notice either way but this is about how you feel.

The Estée Lauder double wear is bomb proof. Victoria Beckham eyeliners are long wearing, I’ve been to bed to have a nap today and I woke up with it a little smudged but definitely still there.

headcheffer · 18/08/2023 19:10

I second getting a lash lift and eyebrow wax

SecretVictoria · 18/08/2023 19:22

Bare Minerals used to do one that was advertised you could sleep in it. Not sure if they still do.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/08/2023 19:31

Oh yes I've slept in Bare Minerals !

nolamesallowed · 18/08/2023 19:38

Enjoy the acne.

WildFlowerBees · 18/08/2023 19:46

If you work on getting good skin you won't need make up you'll wake up with a lovely glow. Lash lift and tint and eyebrows waxed and tidied and you'll look great. Get a good skincare routine and work on your self confidence.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 18/08/2023 19:54

He won’t care.

honestly.

if you need something: maybe some lip stain/lip tint? Something comparable to the benetint / gogotint ones etc.

Crimblecrumble1990 · 18/08/2023 19:59

I'd probably go for a BB cream (maybe some self tan?) and keep a tinted lip balm by your bedside for lips and cheek when you wake up? My main concern would be morning breath so maybe some mints on the side too.

I did this too with my now husband. I very quickly went to my usual natural self but I totally understand why you would want to do this at the beginning.

TetrapanaxRex · 18/08/2023 20:04

Get up early and put some concealer on in the bathroom?

edinburghfun · 18/08/2023 20:10

Charlotte Tilbury airbrush setting spray. Really natural and effective. Have a great time.

What skin care products do you use? I really need to start taking better care of my skin.

edinburghfun · 18/08/2023 20:12

Just read the unnecessary comments. Just scroll on by, really no need to bring your negative energy.

Ignore them OP.

KinellMate · 18/08/2023 20:16

Reminds me of Mrs Maisel getting up early to put her makeup on and then getting back into bed before her husband saw her.

Of course, this was the 1950s, I didn't think women were still doing this in 2023 😲

TetrapanaxRex · 18/08/2023 20:16

A very light fake tan on the face can hide redness and even out skin tone as well as giving you a bit of a healthy glow.

CoveredWindows · 18/08/2023 20:17

Just look well shagged and don’t stress 😊

UndercoverCop · 18/08/2023 20:21

Lash tint and lift, eyebrows threaded, very light fake tan. Pot/tube of lip balm by the bed I like glossier balm dotcom in mint it's fresh

smashedbanana · 18/08/2023 20:22

Been there, done this (in the early days)! I would recommend using a good face tanner a day before you go (I use isle of paradise drops with my normal moisturiser) so your skin looks fresher overall. A cream blush stays put longer (and generally looks more dewy than powder). Good luck and enjoy your weekend!
