Which dress for village hall/garden party wedding?

I have about a week to go and have left it a bit late in the hope that my postpartum tummy might've magically disappeared 6 months after having a baby. Sadly it hasn't, and I'd really like to find something lovely that doesn't make me feel self conscious about my tummy and I also need access to breastfeed my son.

I'm size 10, 5ft 8 with dark hair and olive skin tone. Budget £200. Here are a few of the things I've tried on so far and also that I've been eyeing up online.

Ooh the Reiss jumpsuit is gorgeous, and very wearable again in the future after the wedding. You could wear with flats or heels, a jacket or wrap and jewellery. Fabulous.

Pinkitydrinkity · 10/08/2023 16:38

Love the Reiss dress! The green Hope & Ivy dress is lovely too.

Lavendersquare · 10/08/2023 16:56

I absolutely love the baby Hope & Ivy, so many lovely bright colours you can pick out with accessories etc x

345s · 10/08/2023 17:01

Love the jumpsuit and the first dress. The Frances dress is nice but zoom in to see how badly made it is, especially the hem.

bridgetreilly · 10/08/2023 17:20

Pink jumpsuit. Gorgeous.

Love the jumpsuit and the first dress. The Frances dress is nice but zoom in to see how badly made it is, especially the hem.

The Claire isn't great either. Neither look like dresses which cost £120.

floribunda18 · 10/08/2023 17:28

I like the Reiss Marnie dress best. The jumpsuit is nice but post partum I'd probably not want to be held up too much going for a wee if it was at all fiddly.

gogomoto · 10/08/2023 17:39

To be honest I'd opt for a skirt and 2 tops (vest top and blouse you can lift) more usable than a specific nursing dress

Jk987 · 10/08/2023 17:42

The first one is nice and the Reiss jumpsuit in pink - much more stunning than the navy.

Bunny2021 · 10/08/2023 17:46

Reiss jumpsuit in navy. I have one similar and I love it - it's so useful and can easily be dressed up or down, so I'd definitely say you'll get more wear out of it than the dresses.

PoliticallyIncorrectHitchling · 10/08/2023 18:42

Claire dress is my fav. wish it would go on sale

Ophy83 · 10/08/2023 19:07

Reiss jumpsuit is fab. I also like the Reiss dress but it doesn't look too breastfeeding friendly

MrsMarzetti · 10/08/2023 19:39

The Claire is gorgeous

mondaytosunday · 10/08/2023 21:08

I like the first dress. Do not like the second snd third too casual.
I like the jumpsuit too, but looks quite sophisticated for a garden wedding - I'd wear that to a night out at an upmarket restaurant or cocktail bar.

Zipps · 10/08/2023 21:58

I also love the Reiss navy jumpsuit.

Coronationstation · 10/08/2023 22:00

I like the first two best for a wedding but they seem expensive. The Reiss Marnie one is too short for a wedding IMO and the jumpsuit is nice but a bit too booby / low cut for me.

TizerorFizz · 10/08/2023 22:11

Stine Goya or Rixo are better. Farm Rio are great for more casual weddings.

The dresses look dated. Jump suit ok if you are happy with slip style on top. If it’s a chilly day, it’s going to need something over it.

backoffbuster · 11/08/2023 09:07

I like dress 3 the best for a village hall type
wedding.

notawittyname1954 · 11/08/2023 10:19

I think any of them are good but I love the jumpsuit.

tattygrl · 11/08/2023 12:43

"The Frances" is just breathtaking. Unusual yet not "out there", eye-catching, stunning colour, aahh I love it! Would be easily wearable again, too. My second choice is the linen jumpsuit.

PPQ123 · 11/08/2023 14:58

Some lovely styles, but as a pp said, the finish on those Hope & Ivy is very very rough for the price.

TizerorFizz · 11/08/2023 15:29

Linen really creases though snd can look like a rag in a few hours. Ok for a casual meal in the pub, but not a wedding.
