35 but very tired and possibly anaemic? No offence meant, as your skin is very similar to mine and I am severely anaemic so just sending you a big hug and look after yourself lovely xxx

My sister is like this. She thinks she is SO youthful.

In reality she looks like an attractive 50 year old who looks after herself.
Because she is exactly that.
Whenever I go and see her though, she asks semi random people "who is the oldest?" (I am a year older) They usually say she is! I am positive it is because I do not cover myself in makeup. After 45 I think it is so aging.

I have a friend like this. She was gutted when someone said I looked younger.

The problem with a photo is that it doesn't show our mannerisms and they can make people look younger or older than their photo I think. People who are super fit move in a younger way. They are stronger and more flexible and have better mobility. And photos that are not crystal clear will not show the skin texture well. In real life older skin is evident by lack of elasticity. Soft floppy jokes, crepe-iness and lack of radiance. Even slightly uncrisp photos veil all of this!

True. I am in my mid to late 50s. I can look anything from 45 to 65 in photos. Depends on the angle, the lighting, what I'm wearing, if I have make up on etc etc... I had some pics taken at a wedding last summer and several people said I looked 10 years younger - just mid 40s. And I looked about one and a half stone lighter ... (I am 3 stone overweight.) I had a nice flattering outfit on, and lovely make up, and my hair was done beautifully. And the angle of the photos were good.

Had a pic taken by DH last week (twat taking it when I wasn't looking!) and I had no make up on, hair like Worzel Gummidge, and scruffy leggings and a t-shirt on... I looked 65, and a stone heavier than my weight because of the shitty unflattering angle! As you say, it's hard to tell from a photo, as there are so many variables...

But yeah for sure, virtually everyone looks their age within 5 years. IMO!

Most of the women I know around that age (say 67 or under) have longish hair, except for my cousin who has a fade! The shorter haired women tend to be 70+.

Yes, that's been my experience - mine's shoulder-length and I'm in my late 50s.
I don't know how old DD's MiL is; I'd guess early 60s based on the ages of her children and things she's said, but it seems an old-fashioned style on her.
My mother used to have a similar style in her late 50s - it was a bit trendier back then and I remember watching her taking the hot brush through sections to give it volume.

Yes I agree with the posters who are saying that they know of no one of 65 actually having granny’s hairstyle as it’s aging! Her choice entirely of course! I’m older than her and it would never be my choice unless I was in eighties maybe! I’m also interested to know she’s asking how old does everyone think she looks? How weird though! Obviously thinks she looks great! Bulldozing onto another ladies thread, who actually comes on with no makeup and no filters! Put us out of our misery granny and pray tell us how old do you actually think you look?

I did a reverse image search of the "DD" photo and she bears a resemblance to an adult film industry actress. And looking closely at the photo, I do think it possibly looks like a zoomed in still from video taken with a good quality camera.

No shade to the DD if she's real. She's very pretty. But I'm now very suspicious about granny.

I never answer the ago question after That One Time (I shaved a few years off and said 70, turns out he was 57!). But you have a lovely face and I love the colour of your hair.

Why did you ask? Has someone been nasty about hoe you look, or are you just feeling a bit meh?

Thats a good call, being anaemic can make your skin more sallow.
