I would have said late 30s.

Turns out I was right.

I often get told I look late 20s or very early 30s

Yeah that sounds about right - - - that you were born in the late 1920s or very early 30s.

Bumcake · 08/08/2023 10:09

I was two years out, quite pleased with that.

Glad to see you can still smile after some of these comments.

So how did this thread make you feel?

This is a genuine question, I can never figure out what people want from these questions.

A lot of times people just want to know they look great, younger.

I met a friend of a friend at birthday celebrations this weekend. I’d never met her before. She was at a rough guess in her mid to late 50s but looked great! She asked me my age then said “you look so young”. But I haven’t had kids and most of my relatives look younger than others, good genes?

addicteetopawpatrol · 08/08/2023 10:09

@YouAreBeingUnbearable I feel flattered by most replies but a little bit ?! Ok thrn by the late 40s/early 50s. I guess cos random ppl often guess my age as younger I wonder if they just being polite so thought I'd put it to the vote online

You have beautiful skin, but honestly I would have said at least 35. You have nasolabial folds which people in their 20s don't tend to have.

Try switching over to decaffeinated drinks.

Bloody hell. Only if you want to see me looking like a sloth on tranquilizers.

Grin. I’m on my second caffeinated drink of the day but at least it’s green tea.

Thank you for answering. I’m glad you don’t feel deflated by some of the rude replies.

I guessed your age correctly but it probably helps that we are about the same age and look similar, I think.

I said late 40's but it was down to the quality of your skin which isn't great in those photos at least, but with skincare like retinol. glycolic acid and spf it would improve quickly. I also think that lots of us begin to show our age from 35 onwards. Other than that it is probably the camera that isn't doing you any favours.

hohumpigsbum · 08/08/2023 10:14

Mid-40's

I was going to say 35 but with some light makeup and hair done, I’d have guessed much younger I think.

well the poster who wrote - my friends look better then you do - are you a stranger to moisturiser and sunscreen' that's pretty unkind & uncalled for I think

Oh wow. I didn’t see that!

thereisnorightanswer · 08/08/2023 10:16

Truthfully, I thought you were older than your actual age.

The people guessing in real life see you in action though. Possibly you give off more youthful vibes from your actions, language and gestures - so rather than being an exhausted mum, you're actually coming across as someone with lots of energy.

I wouldn't say that they're lying, more that they're ageing you based on more than your looks, and you clearly come across as someone who hasn't given up on life. It's a compliment, and it's more meaningful than how many wrinkles you do or don't have. Actually acting young is what keeps us young, and that's what keeps us healthy.

adriftabroad · 08/08/2023 10:19

I said 40s. You will be in your 40s in a few months.
Not an insult and not far off. We all have our days and with DCs it definitely ages you.

Its not rude. Most people were not rude. You seem pretty confident anyway.TBH to post this in the first place...

I did too but it's a very unflattering photo. (Bad lighting etc.)

With a little make up and a brush of your hair OP you could look much younger in real life. Plus seeing when you talk and your mannerisms might change that. Who knows. But, seeing as you did ask, I thought mid to late 40s after both photos.

What's wrong with her skin? What is there to improve? Retinol and SPF etc. aren't going to eliminate the completely normal signs of aging.

No I weas comparing her to real people not celebrities.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 08/08/2023 10:21

I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment posting such an unflattering picture.

I'm guessing much younger than you actually look in that photo!

Her skin is dull, dry, dehydrated and has a good bit of sun damage, which is making her look older. All that can be improved if she wants to. If she doesn't want to that is fine.

StarPotential · 08/08/2023 10:23

You’ve got ‘young’ features so I can see why people think you might look younger eg round nose and full lips. What do you look like with make up on op?

adriftabroad · 08/08/2023 10:25

FGS Since time began people tell each other they look "ten years younger" blabla.

You look your age... basically 40s.
And it is a terrible photo.

Comedycook · 08/08/2023 10:27

Your features are young....I think if you got your eyebrows threaded and tinted it would lift your whole face. You'd be amazed.

adriftabroad · 08/08/2023 10:27

We will get the old chestnut "but I get I-ded buying alcohol" next. We will all have to explain why.

Reddog1 · 08/08/2023 10:28

I guessed 33-35 but a bit tired and scruffy.

You don’t look 39 imo.
