Help!
I am MOB this week and stressing about everything
Bright pink lace dress with baby pink shoes which I’m trying on around house for comfort
Floral clip for hair with real flower corsage in matching colours
gold clutch bag
I’ve got a silk backed cardigan thingy if get cold in evening but hoping for sunshine and that I won’t need it - it’s baby pink and matches shoes
Will try and attach pictures which won’t out me lol
I had every good intention to lose weight but I’m heavier than I wanted to be and can only hope to smooth it all out with good underwear

What in particular are you worried about? My worry would be are the shoes comfortable ? There’s a lot of standing up. I love the shoes and the cardigan , but If Iwas feeling heavy , I would also worry about being squeezed into a tight dress. I might try to find something more understated, and forgiving. But you know your style, and you know how these clothes feel.
is that top from 100stars? They have incredibly comfortable dresses, that would work with everything else, or you could go swanky and get something in the Max Mara sale.

Zebracat · 06/08/2023 22:09

This from Max Mara. Or this from Wrap London. Its pink, not white,

There are currently 185 pink wedding guest dresses on the John Lewis website.
I think I’m quite invested because my mob dress just didn’t fit and I had to find a very last minute substitute, andI hated it.

justanothercat · 07/08/2023 09:34

The dress is lovely but not very forgiving, are you being harsh on yourself regards your weight?
This is pretty

Without seeing it on it's hard to tell. How do u feel wearing it? If you don't feel good find somthing else. you won't enjoy the day if you feel uncomfortable.

GenerallyGreenerGrass · 07/08/2023 10:02

Your outfit and shoes are great.
Just put as smile on your face and enjoy the wedding.

ApolloandDaphne · 07/08/2023 10:16

I bought shoes like that for a wedding and found them very comfortable and I have very fussy feet!

MarciaSaysANumber · 07/08/2023 10:22

Which - the pointy heels or the Mary Janes?

hopeishere · 07/08/2023 10:30

Is it a church wedding? I would maybe wear the cardi to make it look more like a finished outfit.

ActDottie · 07/08/2023 10:30

Tbh I think it looks fine :) and very traditional MOB type dress I’m sure you’ll look lovely

This is what I’d choose or @Zebracat options. The lace one doesn’t look comfy and a bit aging..

The pointy heels

JaceLancs · 07/08/2023 18:08

Thank you everyone - I just need to get over myself!
I will try dress on again with shoes which I’m hoping will be comfortable as they only have a small heel - I will take some gold sandals to change into for evening if not
The thing I’m most unsure about is the cardigan which is Ted baker
not a fan of pashminas and thought the matching jacket wasn’t that nice when I bought the dress originally
It’s supposed to be 26 degrees that day so will hopefully only need it in the evening
I’ve been to get my nails - brows and eyelashes done today which has made me feel better too

My concern is that it is a lot of different pinks but if you're content with how it goes together that's good. Hope it's a fab day!

Mummyoflittledragon · 07/08/2023 19:12

I think the cardigan is the nicest bit tbh. It’s beautiful.

Have you tried the dress on and are you brave enough to share a pic? Is that feather clip for your hair?

Floisme · 07/08/2023 19:27

Are you kidding me op, that cardigan is a cracking choice! It'll look gorgeous with the dress. Just get yourself some magic underwear and you're good to go.

Rainbow1901 · 07/08/2023 19:40

Keep wearing the shoes to break them in!! As in, wear them for as long as they feel comfortable - as soon as they begin to feel uncomfy - change them for slippers or something else. Then try again four or five hours later. I used to wear new shoes doing the ironing and then change. As the time lengthens you will feel more at home in them and do take another pair in case you need to have a complete break but still have hours to go. The outfit is lovely - so no worries there. Have a lovely day!!

JaceLancs · 07/08/2023 20:41

Clip is for hair
I will try on later and get DS to take picture
glad to hear cardigan is winning!

I much prefer the dress now it’s on. Really looks fab and fits very well despite your apprehension having not lost weight.

I also see what you mean about the cardigan. It’s prettier from behind. I bet the dress looks great without.

The only minor thing is I can see your knicker line at the waist. Idk if higher up knickers (as in above the waist), an all in one or a control slip would work better… if you have time to invest. I also find bras sag after a while so make sure you’re wearing your newest, most supportive one and scoop your boobs into your bra as that helps to define the waist.

I have these (my teen dd likes this brand and I thought I’d try their knickers) and they’re actually pretty good. Next day delivery. FYI they have short boning in the upper part to help stay up so I wouldn’t wear them every day but for an occasion… https://www.prettylittlething.com/plus-black-seamless-high-waist-control-shapewear-brief.html#
