Lovely smelling shampoo

Want one! all recommends welcome.

Not fruity. Woody, sandalwoody or a deep pungent floral would suit.

Oily, very frequently washed hair. Sodding chore so may as well get something uplifting and pleasant out of it!

No particular budget, as it will be my luxury ’feel good’ item, along with naice soap as I don’t use shower gel.

TIA 🤗

Le Labo. Extraordinarily spendy though.

Sweetwindinmyhead · 24/07/2023 22:40

Shu Uemura smells pretty nice

readbooksdrinktea · 24/07/2023 22:42

I love Redken. Especially the Extreme series.

Sequinsandfrills · 24/07/2023 23:10

I've had (and liked) Aussie and Maui ranges but although they do smell pleasant, the smell isn't really retained on the hair afterwards. The aforementioned L'Oreal one is the only one that actually perfumes my hair afterwards, rather than just smelling nice on application before being rinsed out.

For those on more of a budget, L'Oreal Dream Lengths (in the orange bottles) smells lovely and the scent really wafts about.

Was about to say the same. Good shampoo as well.

LauraPausini · 25/07/2023 00:27

Le Labo smells gorgeous but very pricey.

Pointypointything · 25/07/2023 06:21

Tigi catwalk, the nourishing one. Smells lovely and my extremely thick, coarse hair feels so soft afterwards

declutteringmymind · 25/07/2023 06:43

Alberto flex balsam. Is it still around for a retro option?

Q2C4 · 25/07/2023 07:02

I treated myself to Kerastase shampoo after childbirth when my hair looked very thin. I really wanted to like it but I found it left a lot of build up on my hair.
I tried Aveda too which was better but the best shampoo I've found for my hair is Aussie Mega.

IheartNiles · 25/07/2023 07:09

Oribe is the best but £££.
Le Labo is cheaper, £20-25, smells lovely and the scent lasts.
I don’t get the love for Kerastase, it’s a good shampoo but doesn’t smell of much.

MissHarrietBede · 25/07/2023 07:57

So many great sounding suggestions! glad I started this thread. Hair pefume is a good idea for extra mmmmm factor.

Going to seek out the many shampoos here I had no knowledge of. Happy to have such a wealth of options to try!

Thank you all.

I spent £39 on Le Labo conditioner- any suggestions on where I can get it cheaper gratefully received!

I agree with this. I received a bottle of this shampoo as a substitution with an online food shop. It smells lovely and the scent really lasts.

PretzelKnot · 25/07/2023 09:29

Don’t know if it ships to the UK, but the scents are amazing and long-lasting. But strong so if you are after subtle, this is not for you.

I hated the feel of my hair with Aussie - it felt parched but oily, almost like white spirit/turps on my head.

It was very strange.

Aussie SOS smells lovely

Moroccanoil shampoo and conditioner smells amazing I use the volume one but they have lots of different styles

Seconded

Needcoffeeimmediatley · 25/07/2023 10:07

I use the wunderbar range from Sallys, smells amazing and my hair has never been softer. Plus you can get huge bottles which last about a year!

Growlybear83 · 25/07/2023 10:14

My favourite smelling shampoo is Faith in Nature Rosemary but most of their shampoos are lovely.

WoofWoofBeachLife · 25/07/2023 13:51

Dream lengths smells lovely and it is wafty and lingers. Aveda is also nice but I've never purchased it outside of a salon visit. I'm also taking away some fab recommendations from your thread OP thanks for starting it. 😊

nickyschof · 25/07/2023 22:53

Beauty pie shampoo. This shampoo is the only one I've experienced where I can smell my hair all day.

evtheria · 25/07/2023 23:14

Another one for Pureology! My sister gave me a bottle (was a pale golden/oyster colour) and it was heavenly... Smells like a really expensive, spa-like salon!

My DS uses Maui Moisture Bamboo, which we hastily grabbed off the shelf, and his hair smells fantastic the whole day after a wash. I literally bury my face in it and inhale deeply, much to his disgust.

hivetoo · 25/07/2023 23:16

I like Wella. Reminds me of my hairdressers salon I buy the big litre bottles of the shampoo and conditioner.

MissHarrietBede · 26/07/2023 08:42

@WoofWoofBeachLife it is a lovely fragrant thread! a wealth of really good sounding products, and it's interesting how different shampoos react on posters hair.

I'm using up a bottle of OGX kukui oil shampoo and the smell is gorgeous, it smells like an island holiday and the scents does linger in the hair too.

I actually didn't have high hopes for the shampoo (have long/lots of fine hair prone to oily roots and am a daily washer) so usually shampoos for frizzy hair just weigh it down or it doesn't feel clean but this is really nice and I think I'll repurchase. I usually use faith and nature but this feels much more of a luxurious fornula I have to say.

I only picked it up because I'm a sucker for a bargain and it was reduced to clear in our local Boots for £1.20 but I'd pay full price, and probably will. The bottle's lasted a while.
