Thoughts on this bag?

I've fancied it for about a year and now it's half price in the sale, plus an extra 30% off, plus I have a voucher for a further 20% off. So about £60 instead of £220!

I've never had a Fossil bag before - what is the quality like, does anyone know? I usually carry vintage leather doctor-style/structured bags, small/medium sized and my 'style' (if you can call it that) is a ’slightly less chaotic Helena Bonham Carter’ (©️DD for that description!). I like Vampires Wife style dresses and vintage stuff.

I wouldn't call it a satchel. Fossil bags are good quality. I don't like the pocket purse or whatever you call it at the front.

If you love it, then get it - it's a bargain!!! Fossil is great quality, lovely leather.

No I wouldn't call it a satchel either! But Fossil seem to call anything that can be worn crossbody a 'satchel'. I like the purse pocket, I don't like zips on bags so it's an interesting/unusual feature to me. Reminds me of the 70s Coach bags which had similar.

Very cute style. But I wouldn't buy because it's just open at the top, with a magnetic button. I need a zip for security.

It looks impractical to me but then I like massive tote bags. If you love it, buy it immediately.

This is the only thing that's making me hesitate. Security is an issue but also smaller items falling out, and stuff getting soaked if I'm caught in the rain. I thought I could use a small drawstring bag liner or something for added security perhaps?

I only carry a card holder, phone, keys, lipstick, earbuds and a pair of sunglasses so size is fine for me, most of my bags are quite small.

My Grandma was beautifully stylish. It does look like a bag she had, which is a massive Yes, buy it! in my opinion.

You asked about quality. I have a Fossil bag, my first one, which I have had 15 years, I haven't looked after it especially well, it shows signs of wear on the corners, but it's not one of the smarter ones, it's designed to look vintage. It will outlive me.

I have about 8 -10 Fossil bags for everyday use and they are really good bags. Weaks spots tend to be the straps which can crack if not cared for, detachabale ones can be replaced and I always go for adjustable.

Yes, they do call the cross body/shoulder strap bags satchels, I think that must be what they call the style of bag where they are made.

Personally I wouldn't want a purse on the outside of the bag, too easy to open, and I always go for a zip closure, but then I have had men try to get a hand inside my bags when in a queue (stepping hard on the foot usually sends them off, as does shouting).

You can buy zip up bags to put inside, used to be called bag in a bag, I don't know what they are called these days. It means you can just pick up everything at once and change bags without faffing about.

I have a fossil bag in a very soft leather - so soft it has ripped where it fastens ☹️

My bag is always tucked under my arm, zipped shut and my hand on top.

I was tempted to stop reading after ‘I’ve fancied it for a year’. If you love it and keep thinking about it then buy it!

Are you sure you can stack all the %off vouchers like that? It might not be quite such a bargain if not, but I like the granny chic look and fossil bags are good quality.

Agreed - I'm struggling to see why a bag described like that is supposed to be a bad thing. I like it. It doesn't go with the denim jumpsuit the model is wearing.

I have a couple of their bags which get used frequently. I have had them for maybe 5 years and are showing no signs of wear and tear.

I personally don't like shoulder/crossbody bags that it's only a chain, I find them uncomfortable in the long run.

It's not for me - I think it looks a bit like someone's superglued a vintage style purse onto a bag, in an awkward way. It's not that it's awful and I don't hate it or anything- it's just that all the elements seem to work against each other - the body of the bag and the chain strap with the front piece as well just look off, as do the dimensions. Personal opinion though.

if you've liked it for a while and still do OP I'd go for it while there's a deep discount, why not. Discount codes don't usually work on top of an additional discount but if they do even better.
