Which dress for wedding

Hi which dress do you think would be better for a wedding? And can I ask what you would accessorise with? Especially head/hair wise. It's for step daughters wedding. It's a fancy affair are these dresses fancy enough?

Both lovely, but I think I’d feel a bit nervous about wardrobe malfunctions (boobs & knickers) in the second.

Assignedtoworryyourmother · 13/07/2023 00:02

That's a heck of a split /wrap front in the second dress - unless you want to spend the day hoiking it over when you sit down, I'd give it a miss. The first is very nice. Is it going to be a hat affair? If so a pill box could work, depending on your hairstyle.

clpsmum · 13/07/2023 00:33

Yes think it will be a hat affair. Good point re the solo hadn't thought of gaping!!

i much prefer the wolfandbadger, a couple carefully placed hook and eyes to keep the neck décolleté where it should be for you as well as the same at the thigh.
the wolf one would be easy to accessorize with a pop of color.
the silkfred looks a bit drab and would need a bit more to stand out as wedding vs funeral attire.

I love those shoes

clpsmum · 13/07/2023 01:26

@FlappyFish thank you? me too, they are on sale now! I stupidly bought them first though and trying to find an outfit to match!!

You could wear an m&s Co comfort slip under the dress to prevent wardrobe malfunctions. There are several different lengths of slips available.

Both are appropriate, but quite different, so I think worth trying both to see which suits you better.

RavenhairedRachel · 13/07/2023 08:52

Definitely the first one it's lovely. The second one looks like a dressing gown. The plain navy you can dress it up with bright coloured accessories you can be bold with colours like cerise pink or even lime green.

LittleMonks11 · 13/07/2023 08:55

First one with hot pink accessories. Or that gorgeous bright green that's everywhere at the moment.

clpsmum · 13/07/2023 09:41

Thanks everyone I've ordered both so I'll see what they're like when they arrive xx

I prefer the 1st one too and echo the suggestions of hot pink accessories 💗

clpsmum · 13/07/2023 11:41

I already have brand new pale pink shoes and bag and mint green shoes and bag was hoping to wear them but now you're all changing my mind and think I might need to buy more! Loving the idea of hot pink or lime green and thinking even orange

That is lovely but not really keen on satin tbh

StarlightLady · 13/07/2023 11:49

I prefer the second one because of the neckline.

DisforDarkChocolate · 13/07/2023 12:35

I love the first one, with kelly green accessories. You can never have enough shoes.

cathcath2 · 13/07/2023 15:40

I love the first one

Coronationstation · 13/07/2023 15:54

I saw a lady last night wearing a dress of similar style to the first one with a pillbox hat and she looked stunning! You could go for red jacket and accessories with a plain navy dress.

clpsmum · 13/07/2023 15:56

@Coronationstation that sounds lovely. I think that's what I'm leaning towards

Don't be too matchy with shoes/bag/hat. Mix it up as everything matching is dated and a bit boring.

I think those Joe Browns shoes would be great with the first dress.

Pinkelephant66 · 13/07/2023 16:34

Definitely the second one

clpsmum · 13/07/2023 16:39

@DiscoDeborah what colour bag/hat would you go with if wearing pink shoes xxx
