I’ve ordered it as I’ve always wanted one and I have the credit. There’s not much in there that I already have so I’m happy to try the things. My sister will love the little mirror and I’ll gift the clips too.

Peridot1 · 01/08/2023 13:47

Thanks @EasterIssland!

hettiethehare · 01/08/2023 13:48

I've gone for it as well - I haven't had one for around 5 years and had a bit of credit. I haven't looked too closely at the contents as I like the daily surprise.

Peridot1 · 01/08/2023 13:51

I’m not blown away by it. Might hold on for a bit before deciding.

I have been saving my beauty drop credit for it but may use it for something in the sale. I really really don’t need any more beauty products.

Boppertini · 01/08/2023 13:53

I’m on the fence! I really like the contents (might be the only one wanting the hair clips!) and the makeup is in my colours. How long do we think the £10 off is likely to last? I find it difficult to predict discounts this year as I guess they’re bound to have decreased supply based on last years sales?

WeAreBorg · 01/08/2023 14:14

I didn’t get that email! I don’t fancy it at all, I’ll tragically have to spend my credit on others things (is this a ploy? Make a crappy calendar so you spend more on other stuff?). The Rose Le Labo is possibly the only one of theirs I’m not keen on and i don’t like the trinkets at all.

Ive tried John Lewis and space NK in the past - any other recommendations? I MUST have a calendar 😂

viques · 01/08/2023 14:17

I am puzzled. They say 19 full sized products, but I could only count 12. And some of the small products were in ridiculously tiny amounts. It probably costs almost as much to produce those teeny tiny samples as it does to knock out a full sized product. I would love to know what the actual mark up on the products is.

I assume the bracelet , the hair clip and mirror are full sized ( bit worrying if they aren’t) but that doesn’t get up to 19. Maybe the mystery item is full sized, whatever it is.

I am hanging on for a look at the Fortnums calendar.

EasterIssland · 01/08/2023 14:24

Last year I got Liberty and space nk which has caused me a big backlog of items that I’ve not used and some I even sold so maybe it’s not bad to only have one this year and it won’t be Liberty

they have some of the brands I like so I’ll keep the credit for them

PinkFootstool · 01/08/2023 14:30

Nah I'm saving my money for the sales 😂

BCSurvivor · 01/08/2023 14:38

Re Liberty Credit.
If I've got £60 credit and I only want to redeem £30 of it with a purchase, can you choose at checkout how much to redeem, or does the purchase have to be more than the credit balance?

It works like a gift card so you can spend as little as you like
Im not going for the advent calendar
Liberty usually do a GWP in September with around £175 spend and then free products worth just under £500.
I’ve bought those in recent years as I can choose what products I buy and then still get the free gift

BCSurvivor · 01/08/2023 14:54

@Nanasueathome thank you x

TragicMuse · 01/08/2023 15:17

I've just had the pre-order for the calendar. With £10 off. But I really want to check out the GWP in September!

So torn!!

Isabelle70 · 01/08/2023 15:30

I have £130 in BD credit and vouchers and would rather order at the end of this month so I will have a further £20 credit. How long do we expect the calendar to be in stock for?

LoveLabradors · 01/08/2023 16:07

I’m exactly the same as @Nanasueathome. I much prefer to choose things I really love and enjoy a free gift than buy the advent.
I am absolutely loving the votary serum from the beauty drop - unfortunately just looked up the cost of it! It’s really made my lacklustre skin glow.

Neilsfavouritechilli · 01/08/2023 16:14

I'm joining most of you and keeping hold of my credit for something else.

MavisMcMinty · 01/08/2023 16:22

Interesting that so few of us seem tempted - maybe that bodes well for surplus stock and heavy discounts as Christmas approaches? I gather that’s what happened last year, although possibly that was caused by the eye-watering cost of living rather than ennui about the box. I didn’t buy an AC last year until just before (and then again after) Christmas, because of lack of money. I try to save £100 a month for AC season, but usually have to raid it every few months to get out of the red with my bank account. Then it’s car service/MOT time in December…

Stokey · 01/08/2023 16:22

@WeAreBorg Sephora and Latest In Beauty looked good last year although I didn't get either, but they seemed good value with lots of full size products. Fortnums normally looks decent too and lots of folk like Harrods.

I had Cult Beauty a couple of years back which I also liked.

So I don't think Liberty has changed from the previous leak? They really loved those under eye gels and Augustine Bader. I'm thinking of cancelling my membership, am feeling pretty meh about the products.

MavisMcMinty · 01/08/2023 16:24

I don’t mean I try to save £1200 a year just for ACs! That’s where the money has to come from for the couple I usually buy.

CinnamonCoffee · 01/08/2023 16:26

Can you order the advent in September and get the GWP? That way get both!

MavisMcMinty · 01/08/2023 16:31

If it’s still in stock by September, maybe? Don’t know though, sometimes discounts and deals don’t apply to certain products, on other sites anyway.

notanicepersonapparently · 01/08/2023 16:39

I think it’s probably a no from me too at the moment. It’s not so exciting that I’d be gutted if it sells out. All those small sizes seem a bit cheapsake.

MavisMcMinty · 01/08/2023 16:47

Funnily enough, the only things that tempt me are the “non-beauty products” like the mirror, bracelet and hair-clip! But then I am pretty glutted out with all the other stuff. Maybe there’s an AC that does just that sort of thing?

WeAreBorg · 01/08/2023 18:15

Thanks! I’ll check those out. Might sniff out fragrance calendars as well if there is such a thing

Last year I don’t think they did sell out
