Urgent help needed - autistic pyjamas!

Help! My autistic DS needs new pyjamas for a residential visit next week. He is 5'1", with a 28" waist, so too small for almost all men's sizes, but slightly too big for many kids' ranges.

Pyjamas must be:

Cotton (brushed cotton/flannel is fine), or cotton-tencel mix
Not drapy or stretchy
Traditional style buttoned top with collar
elastic and drawstring waist
pockets in the trousers
men's - any pattern is fine.

I have tried Next, Cyberjammies, Cotton Traders, Lands End, all the supermarkets, M&S and I can't find ANY!! Thought the cyberjammies largest kids size would fit, but they are a size too small. His current PJs are not fit to be seen, so I'm desperate!! Help!!!

Is it a stupid idea to say check out women's pyjamas because he's fairly small so they might fit better and you can get some checked ones identical to men's?

Hi. My teen son is 5'9" and a 28inch waist. I buy him mens extra small that on the sizing charts are 28inch waist the majority of the time. I usually buy from mm direct (online) for him with no issue. Given it is summer you could purchase "shorts" pj's which would mean the length wouldn't matter

If you search eBay for: traditional mens pyjamas or brushed mens pyjamas some pairs come up and then you can look for S or XS e.g.

Relatively cheap to get the legs and arms shortened if need be.

If they haven't got pockets they could be made from the cut off length too.

Recommend Chelsea Peers, specifically, the ones with animals printed on the fabric. Don't know about the pockets but have been the last word in the 'right' PJs for friends.

The Chelsea Peers are great but they don't have pockets! So close...

All the men's pjs are too wide in the body and ridiculously long in the legs and arms. He is so sensitive about being short that he won't wear shortened ones... Same with the women's ones - can't wear those cos they're for girls.
All the others don't have the right size or don't have pockets...

Any other suggestions? 🙏

Oh and shorts are out - long trousers and sleeves only. Top has to be a buttoned one, not a t-shirt.

I can sew, so that is my last resort...

have you looked in primark? I always find their clothes run small so if you looked at a small / xs small mens?
or how about mix and match with some lightweight joggers to wear on the bottom with a button up pyjama top?

Ralph Lauren do nice pyjamas but they're very expensive

I'm going to order some H&M XS ones, but I think they will still drown him in terms of length...

If they're right for everything but length, could you get to them before he does when they're delivered and shorten them? Put them back in the plastic bag (open it carefully) and present him with them.
