Urgent help needed - autistic pyjamas!

Help! My autistic DS needs new pyjamas for a residential visit next week. He is 5'1", with a 28" waist, so too small for almost all men's sizes, but slightly too big for many kids' ranges.

Pyjamas must be:

Cotton (brushed cotton/flannel is fine), or cotton-tencel mix
Not drapy or stretchy
Traditional style buttoned top with collar
elastic and drawstring waist
pockets in the trousers
men's - any pattern is fine.

I have tried Next, Cyberjammies, Cotton Traders, Lands End, all the supermarkets, M&S and I can't find ANY!! Thought the cyberjammies largest kids size would fit, but they are a size too small. His current PJs are not fit to be seen, so I'm desperate!! Help!!!

Have you tried the white company sale?

SuffolkUnicorn · 06/07/2023 21:23

Pep and co I have spd and they are the only ones I will wear

Bubbleswithsqueak · 06/07/2023 22:02

Thanks all. Long sleeved, long legged, traditional style cotton with pockets in the trousers still elude me. I have ordered the Chelsea Peers ones in jungle print in the hope that the jungle might offset the lack of pockets.
If anyone finds the perfect pair, please post them!!!

My autistic DGS has a button phobia and would not be able to wear that style. It seems very prescriptive!

RosesAndHellebores · 06/07/2023 22:10

Why would he need to know trousers and sleeves have been taken up?

@Dahliasrule You may have a grandson who's autistic, but you don't have much of an understanding of autism do you?

Toolatefortea · 06/07/2023 23:49

Argh, but not sure if they have pockets… sorry!

So... the pajamas from this company tick all of your boxes and are brilliant EXCEPT they are in very distinctive patterns - it depends if this is a residential where he gets a private room or a trip where peers might see him. MENS PYJAMAS – THEIR NIBS

(If he is too small for the men's, the women's are literally the same thing but a bit smaller, and also have pockets. They are smooth not brushed cotton and get softer with every wash).

Dahliasrule · 07/07/2023 08:25

Gymnopedie, I did not say he was autistic because he had a button phobia! He has lots of aspects but they weren’t relevant. He has been diagnosed and gets extra help at school. Perhaps I should have just said he has a button phobia but I do feel it is part of his sensory issues, I.e. needing soft clothing. I really do not feel your judgemental remark was called for.

Bubbleswithsqueak · 07/07/2023 11:02

@BestZebbie Theirnibs look good, but can't find any the right size. Although all the men's styles are shown with a woman in the same pyjamas, I can't find them in women's sizes. The XS men's only go down to a 28-30 inch waist, and the leg length will still be massive.
@Toolatefortea the PJPan look great, but they only have girls' patterns in the 11-14 sizes (pink and flowery).
Taking up trousers and sleeves is a possibility, but it is very difficult to do in a way that isn't obvious to a detail obsessed and very observant autistic kid!

I really do appreciate the help, btw! I just want to be able to find him something he feels comfortable and confident in.

Would these work in an xs from H&M?

Sorry, just realised someone had already suggested those!
