Afternoon, a new thread and thanks to @ArcaneWireless for the great title! On we go!

I love Leti’s dress, that’s so flattering and elegant 😍but I think the black and white humbug dress is the polar opposite. I do like the bag though, and liked the camel tonal outfit, but not the wrinkled polo neck bit ( it reminds me of the tardigrade plushies, sorry😖).

MotherofPearl · 04/08/2023 18:11

I love Meghan's striped dress and think she looks great.

RS&B pals, I'm in Copenhagen and today went to see the Amalienborg Palace. I stupidly left my phone in the cloakroom locker but got my DD to take this one of the enormous portrait of Daisy. I noticed that EBG branded items were very numerous in the gift shop (bookmarks, postcards). Grin

I also noticed that made up RF stories are tabloid magazine fodder here just as much as they are in the UK.

Wow, @MotherofPearl - can we expect branded EBG gifts all round?! What kind of stuff? I do think that magazines everywhere print this stuff!

I’m laughing at the fact that all the headlines are in Danish, except for “Sex on the Beach”. 🤣

MotherofPearl · 04/08/2023 20:38

Of course @Maireas, CPM bookmarks all round! There was a beautiful exhibition of Faberge objects (only a few eggs) at the palace.

I wonder if the tabloids have the same amount of influence as the ones in the U.K? I know the US has the most ridiculous tabloids but no one seems to take them seriously there - everyone knows that Elvis isn't alive and living on Mars!

KillingMeDeftly · 04/08/2023 21:12

I'm off to Stockholm next month but not sure I'll get time to tour the royal palace. I'll keep and eye out for CPV but if she's got her hair down I may not recognise her!!

Tabloids in the US have far less influence than in the UK. I'm not even sure where they are sold; I haven't seen one in ages.

KillingMeDeftly · 04/08/2023 22:14

That's what I thought @SenecaFallsRedux, as I doubt any of them have the circulation figures of the Sun or Mail.

Maireas · 04/08/2023 22:16

They look more entertaining, though!

gluenotsoup · 04/08/2023 22:18

It’s sort of reassuring and worrying in equal measure that it’s not just the British tabloids that come up with the ridiculous fantasy gossip linked to any royal family. It must be really difficult to deal with when it’s just relentless.

Oh yes, a few years ago I saw a Camilla dumps Charles for toy boy headline. 100% true, natch!

Maireas · 04/08/2023 22:35

That's a good one. German ones are quite entertaining and often present very intriguing claims.

To me the stripey dress is another example of MM wearing a dress that shouldn’t really suit her but somehow completely getting away with it! She’s stunning.

smilesy · 05/08/2023 07:35

I’m really not keen on fitted stripy dresses. They make me think of a knitted sock 😆

Hohohogreenjennie · 05/08/2023 09:59

How is she walking in the stripe dress? It’s so narrow at the hem, she must be taking teeny tiny steps! To me it looks like beach wear although I suppose that’s part of the laid back California aesthetic.

It’s not a terrible dress (although it does look a bit ‘sock-ish’) but it just doesn’t suit her. It needed to be shorter (probably at the third to bottom stripe) and have straps to pull it up a bit (and hide her tan lines) as everything looks a bit saggy. I also think it needs a slit to allow for comfort and movement.

clyspa · 05/08/2023 12:58

I am not a fan of Meghans black and white dress too long and awkward looking - looked nice in the 'spontaneous' calls though

I don't rate her as a fashion icon but do think she's better at picking bags

locketrocket · 06/08/2023 09:56

Morning all

Getting myself a cuppa then going to catch up. (bloody life getting in the way)

gingercat02 · 06/08/2023 10:00

I'm currently on holiday in the Canaries and last night noted 3 people in long black and white knitted dresses, 2 horizontal stripes and one vertical. Must be a thing in Europe too.
It's quite a nice resort, but I doubt they were un Megan's price range

mikado1 · 06/08/2023 10:30

I thought it was nice but her overall glossiness is to die for. Just means she can get away with almost anything.

LadyEloise1 · 06/08/2023 10:42

She is very pretty. She has that gorgeous wide smile a la Julia Roberts.

KillingMeDeftly · 06/08/2023 11:12

And no matter what she wears her makeup is usually flawless, though both she and Kate can go a bit too strong on the blusher/bronzer at times.

Maireas · 06/08/2023 11:17

Meghan has an excellent make up artist - I can't remember his name, but he's been with her for years. She definitely knows what works. I also think Leti's make-up is usually very good as well. Sometimes I think Kate's is a bit heavy handed, but it's tricky when you have photographs in mind.

OP posts:
gluenotsoup · 06/08/2023 11:24

I think Meghan’s make up is usually perfect, a bit bronzer heavy at times. She always gets the base right though and has that glowing dewiness (is that a word??) that Kate sometimes doesn’t as her base can look a bit dry. They could do with swapping a few tips, but I doubt they will 😁

I agree with you.
I'd love to be able to get dewiness 😀
I have dry skin ☹️
