Things I can't wear

I was reading a post and someone mentioned clogs. I remembered how I can't understand how anyone wears clogs. I find the wooden rigid sole impossible to walk in.

I also can't wear sling backs. They pop off every step I take.

Obviously things like thin strappy tops with big boobs are tricky but what 'normal' things that you see other people wearing can you not wear?

I would think you have the best body for a bikini! Long torso tends to look much better in bikini than short. Especially as you say you have a small waist. Abs a small waist + big boobs + big bum sounds like bikini fantastic

Thank you, yes I’ve always felt more comfortable in a bikini! It’s just finding on with decent support up top.. and not a halter neck! Dressing is a minefield 🤣

Icanbringmyselfflowers · 09/06/2023 10:01

Any dress that has a long gathered skirt. As I am top heavy in boobs and a fat tummy they make me look absolutely huge.

MagicClawHasNoChildren · 09/06/2023 10:08

I find skirts that sit on the waist quite difficult. They seem to accentuate my little mummy tummy (and it is little - I'm 5'7 and a size 10, so I'm pretty slim) and make me look like Rose West dressed for court.

Skirts that sit a little bit below the waist are fine!

Deathraystare · 09/06/2023 15:16

Kitten heels (all that weight on a small heel!)
High heels
Anything Viscose/Lyocell or whatever. Both make me sweat like a PIG.
High necks (feel strangulated and too hot.
Shorts. Too fat with swollen knees
Mini skirts
Prefer stretchy trousers - I mean with elastine or somethiing. Otherwise my knees complain!

I also loathe paisley

useitorlose · 09/06/2023 15:24

Underwired bras, stiletto heels, round neck t shirts (but scoop neck is ok), polo/roll neck jumpers.

Chypre · 09/06/2023 15:34

Thong/string underwear. Just no.

Preps · 09/06/2023 15:38

Flip flops. I can't even wear them around the house and I see women doing quite lengthy school runs in them. Some people even claim to wear them for comfort Confused

Wrap tops - there is always one wayward tit.

SquashPenguin · 09/06/2023 15:51

Any sort of slider style shoe. My feet are so narrow they just slip off. I’d end up with sore toes trying to hang on to them.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 09/06/2023 16:00

Mohair. It gets up my nose,,literally.

WellTidy · 09/06/2023 16:02

Anything that goes between my toes. I can’t even take a step in them, I find them incredibly uncomfortable just standing on the spot. It is such a pain as we do beach and pool holidays with the DC and flip flops are just perfect for that. I end up wearing crocs and really don’t suit the crocs look!

jay55 · 09/06/2023 16:19

Skinny jeans. I have fat legs, always have, can't get them on, look ridiculous.

Any trouser type clothing that is 7/8 or 3/4 length, always looks like I'm in the wrong size.

There are a lot of women's sandals I can't understand how anyone wears - the ones with the sole about 5mm thick. Almost no cushioning from the ground! I don't understand high heels either.

I exclusively wear barefoot shoes, so the soles are designed to be as minimal as possible so they don’t interfere with the natural movement of your bones/muscles and give you some of the sensory feedback you’d get from being barefoot. I don’t understand how anyone walks in thick soles or platforms!

I can’t wear wool, sequins, or metallic/glittery threads without wanting to scratch my skin off.

LadyMuckingabout · 09/06/2023 16:32

I’m beginning to realise why women wear Damart elasticated trousers and Hotter shoes…

Hate jeans. They look horrible on pears and cut your circulation off.

Most shoes give me grief. I go round feeling every centimetre of a shoe in a shop looking for rough or hard bits. Toe posts - who can tolerate these? High heels - my back! Ballet flats - ouch! In fact any shoes sans socks or a nice 100-denier pair of tights are problematic.

Toomanysquishmallows · 09/06/2023 17:42

I can’t wear dungarees or jumpsuits, I’m a flat chested rectangle shape , and they make me look like im about to slap some undercoat on the wall .

MrsMoastyToasty · 09/06/2023 17:51

Balconette style bras. I have narrow shoulders and the straps slip down my arms.
Dungarees. I look like Mr Tumble's nan.
Jumpsuits. I look like a gas engineer.
Ballet pumps. Just too flat for my high arches.
Anything with a toe post. Just ouch.
High heels. Sets off my plantar fasciitis.
Anything that bares my midriff (or should that be max- riff?). I like a warm tummy and kidneys.
Thongs. Cheese wire for the arse.

Smartnugget · 09/06/2023 18:29

Dresses. I just look awful. In them all. I’d love a summer dress but they just don’t work.

WellTidy · 09/06/2023 18:35

Any shoe without a good amount of flex in the sole. Rules out cork, platform etc. I always try and bend the sole before trying on any shoe.

IWonderWhereThatDishDidGo · 09/06/2023 18:38

I can't wear shoes except sandals without socks (I will get stinky feet😷).

I also can't wear completely flat shoes too much or very high shoes. Needs to be somewhere in the middle.

I also can't wear knit dresses as I overheat in them

EggInANest · 09/06/2023 18:41

Heels
Yellow

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/06/2023 19:46

High heels - I broke my mole when I was 12, and it's never been strong enough.

Delicate footwear - size 9 feet. Even if I can get shoes to fit, they look ridiculous.

Skinny jeans/trousers - massive calf muscles, skinny bottoms just get stuck.

Low waisted anything.I have a very long back, the distance from my crotch to waist is really long,

Cropped anything - again, long back. Cropped jumpers are like a wooly bra on me.

Flip flops/thong sandals, too uncomfortable between the toes, hard to keep on

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/06/2023 19:47

Jumpsuits/dungarees etc - long back

dizzyupthegirl86 · 09/06/2023 20:28

Hats. Any hats (apart from one time I wore a slouchy beanie hat and looked vaguely ok), how do you cope with such a sweaty head?

extramaturecheddarcheese · 09/06/2023 21:18

Wide legged trousers. I am just the wrong shape for them. They are always weirdly tight at the top and flappy at the bottom and too long. Yes, I am a short arse!
