How often do most women change their glasses frames?

I like my prescription and it's working out fine but my glasses are kind of not very stylish anymore. I'm seeing people wearing nice frames and I should really update mine but if those new frames go out of style I'll need to get new glasses yet again in a couple years. I'm at the age where my prescription isn't changing all that much. Just the frames are really dated.

How often would one get new glasses anyway? Every 2 years?

I change mine every eye test, so normally every 2 years. I'm always ready for a change by that point. I have a -9, -9.5 prescription with astigmatism. I know Specsavers takes some flak on here, but as I am also on their Lensmail scheme they are so much cheaper than anywhere else - I think my last pair were £200 including high indexed varifocal lenses.

I got two pairs and I think it was about 650.00. I did get nice frames though.

I've had mine at least 10 years! But I rarely wear them as I wear contacts. They are just back up really. I've just started to fancy new ones, but it does seem a bit silly. But maybe if I liked them better I'd wear them more. But then I'd need to get varifocals...

I think I've had about 4 pairs of glasses since I was 15 (36 years). Have to say I'm surprised other people change theirs so often.

I'm 32, prescription still changing so I get new glasses every 2-3 years, but I've essentially had the same style frame since I worked out what suited me age 14 or 15.
Drives me mad if someone in the optician comes over to suggest different styles.

I get a couple of pairs every year. I only wear them for driving though.

I'm another with complex and expensive lenses - the lenses alone this time cost £800 just for one pair. So I wear the same frames for as long as i can get away with it! The opticians probably hate me because I don't buy new frames, and usually need to lenses re-doing to get them right. I am not likely to be a good enough profit-generator for them to like me much!

They also have loads of designer frames that are all bright colours and big circles and funky shapes and stuff, and I don't think any of those would really suit me - they would probably try to talk me into them, and they might make me look more stylish right at this minute, but they wouldn't last very long, and they wouldn't feel like me, somehow. I wish I could wear that sort of thing but I need a frame that will take me through all situations and just last for years, something non-descript and boring that won't make people look at me for good or bad reasons.
