I hope if it is tomorrow it’s teatime not lunchtime start. Not that I want anything but will have to have a look just in case.

My fav is the second outfit @dudsville

I love the Tala dress too mine is Pesto, was trying it there to see if I might wear it tomorrow and agree it’s fairly generously sized.

Has anyone this one? It’s shaped like the Tala but has no side zip and the belt is fixed on it?

Popplebop · 12/06/2023 21:01

@Noodle421 that made me laugh!
I am so pleased you can all remember the name of the dress- I was scouring my Toast account before I posted. I am also waiting for a possible sale having held off from buying for a while and using my wardrobe. Smiling as currently in
my Toast pjs 😆

Good evening fellow Toasties!

Today was more about heat than style - in a plain Toast linen dress (cross back sleeveless version) and this year's Birkie purchase.

Hoping opposite from @Laska2Meryls (i.e. tomorrow sale start) as heading in the other direction Thursday (flight to Denmark). Not too much on my sale wish list but I always end up going off piste.

Laska2Meryls · 13/06/2023 07:51

Danish clothes shops are fabulous! Lots of Toast vibe ( often better!) But vv expensive..

dudsville · 13/06/2023 08:17

What kind of prices ? What would an average £165 Toast equivalent dress cost in Denmark approx ? (hoping knowing this will help me feel better about paying Toast prices).

I’d be grateful if anyone can provide feedback about the cotton/linen panelled dress. I’ve just bought it in slate. It’s very plain and A- Line, a cut which usually works well on me. Hoping it will be a real workhorse of a dress that can be worn regardless of season. It’s more £ than the other linen mix dresses. Not sure why. I’ll return and swap if it’s put in the sale but I think it’s quite new stock so am assuming it won’t be discounted. Any reports back gratefully received.

RockaLock · 13/06/2023 10:12

@Noodle421 I bought that dress, but I sent it back.

It is lovely, in cut and fabric and quality, and it did look nice on - I just felt that the size 8 that I had ordered was a little bit big for me (I am a "normal" size 10) - I think I could probably have gone down to a 6. If it goes into the sale I will probably repurchase!! (Or maybe even if it doesn't).

It is a reasonably heavy fabric, so it might be too warm for the current weather.

Washyourfaceinmysink · 13/06/2023 11:18

I think the sale might be tomorrow - I wanted to pop to my local store to try a few things on for size, but noticed that they’re closing today @ 4pm 🤔

I really need some help with the new Toast sizing, got too many things in my basket.
I’m 8-10 in most shops, short and petite but not skinny. My frame is size 8 max, but bigger boobs often take me to a 10 if top is more fitted. (And my middle aged waist is certainly moving away from 8!)
For comparison, I have the Gabi trousers in old size 8 which are a bit big, could possibly have had a 6. And I have a Raglan fine cord shirt which is a 6 and very roomy.

Which sizes should I order in the ‘new sizing’ for tops and trousers?
And dresses? I like a lot of their dresses but they’ve always drowned my short frame, wondering if that might have changed?
thank you.

Loving the gorgeous dresses, I remember them all and now wish I’d been less sensible in previous sales.
Also envious about the weather, here in S France it’s been wet and chilly .
At least I’m giving the Kantha jacket lots of use , and the stripey t is my favourite, bought as soon as it hit the store , although it seeme very unpopular and hung around the sale for ages .

I have and love that tee too, @OftenOrange
Sale tomorrow would be fab as it's my day off and I've not much planned!

ilovecherries · 13/06/2023 12:16

Anyone want to do any vicarious shopping? After 5 months of no-buy I’m now trying really hard not to buy new (we’ll see how well this lasts when the sake comes!). If I wear to treat myself to just one pair of pull on trousers (not gabis, want lighter weight) what would you recommend. Which trousers have you bought and adore?

Thank you for your feedback. Really helpful. I’m usually a Toast size 10 under old sizing, closer to a 12 than an 8, so I’ve ordered a 10.

I’m interested in how you feel after fairly lengthy period of no buy. Was it easy for you? Did it change your mindset at all? I really enjoyed hearing the feedback from Hannah Louise Poston’s year of no buy on youtube. It was really quite reflective and thought provoking ( but a step too far for me at the moment 😂) Like many others, I love the dopamine hit of constantly buying new clothes which inevitably never lasts long. I’m trying to look at ways of breaking free from that cycle (but not entirely!) and really enjoy the quality pieces I already own, supplementing/replacing as and when the need arises. Last year, I was quite shocked when I looked at how many clothes I own, many of which I’ve never worn, many still with labels. Ok to have lots of clothes providing they are used and enjoyed !! It’s taken me a year to pare my wardrobe right back to the few pieces I truly love and wear on repeat. I’m really hoping I’ll be a lot more thoughtful with choice pieces going forward 🤞 Interested to hear your feedback.

Noodle421 · 13/06/2023 12:51

Anything I am buying at the moment is filling a wardrobe gap. I hope I don’t start galloping out of control again 😬

Dee1224 · 13/06/2023 12:58

@ilovecherries I really like my garment dyed linen pull on trousers that I got last sale. I usually don’t like Toast trousers but I love these and am hoping they reappear in the sale. I might try a small rather than medium, though, as I swear they have gone a bit baggy, (but still great!)

Mine are in ‘coffee’.

OftenOrange · 13/06/2023 13:06

@ilovecherries Would the linen balloon trousers be a contender.?
Although I’m smallish , I don’t have much waist and find that most of the lovely pleated or voluminous trousers are really unflattering and tend to jut out at the front in a weird way . The linen balloon trousers are lovely and light ;( a lot of critics on the reviews knocking the lightness , I don’t get that at all) so they aren’t bulky .

Stravaig · 13/06/2023 13:08

@ilovecherries Vicarious is where I live these days! Toast, or non Toast?

I have a beautiful pair of trousers from LinenMe. Simplicity incarnate. Well made, lightweight, and with crotch and hems in the right place. There's a range of colours. Some lovely things there. Be aware of import duties though.

OftenOrange · 13/06/2023 13:17

I’m back in UK for a week starting 5th July , so am trying to work out whether I can buy in the Kindred Sale; PO will hold for 18 days so if the parcels are sent out for delivery on about 18 th I could just about make it .
I’m loathe to get stuff delivered to friends as waiting in for parcels is a bit too much to ask ., and our housesitter is out at work during the day..
Loooking at the website there’s not much I’m really really keen on , which prompts me to refer to channel @ilovecherries and just buy to fill a gap .
I love the tiered poplin sun dress , but have to face the reality that the gap is for a light dress with a sleeve.
