Bronzer

I'm going on holiday soon and want a bronzer for the evening. Non glittery, and one that doesn't cling to wrinkles as I'm in my sixties.

You can take my Bourjois bronzer from my cold dead hands, I don't even know if its discontinued, mine has lasted that long!

I've never found expensive bronzers and blush worth paying for though so I'd look at revolution and NYX.

Which one is it? They do a few.

I recently did a lot of matte bronzer research.

High end would be a choice between Fenty and Charlotte Tilbury for me. The CT one is expensive but it's 16g which is huge. I had hoola light (8g) before which lasted 5 years. I managed to get a set with it in on vinted so went with that again.

Budget - the nyx one gets really great reviews and I might get that if I want something darker for summer.

Would a cream bronzer be better for wrinkles maybe? I have the beauty pie one which is good. The Elf putty one is well reviewed too.

Charlotte Tilbury is my favourite, it's just the huge compact I object to! Wish she'd do a travel size.

Chanel do a lovely cream to powder one, I know it's pricey but it's worth it

The Chanel one is universally considered the best. Unless, like me, you're a mozzarella. I've yet to find one that doesn't make me look like a 3 year old got their hands in some orange powder paint and smeared it all over me.

I bought the holy grail guerlain one last year and it made me look like a dusty rock. The Chanel one on the other hand is brilliant, lovely consistency and if you use sparingly give you a subtle glow, not shines or sparkly.

There is a studio just off Sloane Square and their manufacturing plant near Battersea. They do all sorts of colours, including green, blue etc including many that fans of sci-fi movies would recognise. They can customise to match and colour and adjust the formulae to make it heavier or lighter or whatever.

You can ask to be sent samples before lashing out for the matte bronzing powder

Id recommend trying the two lightest shades. Hope you love it as much as I do, as a fellow pale almost blue face.

Trinny London do fabulous cream bronzers in a pot. A little goes a long way and the colours are great. Super for mature skin. I love their products.

Nars Laguna was my first intro to bronzer a couple of years ago. No shimmer, comes in a 'mini' Suzanne which was great to try out. I'll (hopefully) never be without it again!

Guerlain Terracotta is my fav, i've used it for years and years.

Nars Laguna and the cream version too - hands down the best bronzer ever, natural colour and no shimmer at all.

Benefit hoola would be my second choice, again natural with no shimmer, just not as perfect a colour for me as the Nars one.
