Smart White Trainers?

NCFThis · 29/05/2023 20:45

Any recommendations for smart and versatile white trainers that would be great with a summer dress as well as a jeans and jumper, also comfortable enough for everyday use and travel. Don't need to look or feel very sporty, if you know what I mean. Would love to see some
you guys love!

I bought these a few weeks ago and have been wearing with dresses. Surprisingly comfy! They're a nice understated design and wipe clean easily too.

Hightop converse are always my go to. They do leather or pleather ones if you want a cleaner look.

Moonshine5 · 29/05/2023 21:06

Standard: Vejas / New Balance 327 or my personal faves : Nike Training free metcon 5 in pink

goldenlocks · 29/05/2023 21:09

Apparently this look is going out of fashion if you care about that sort of thing...

(I have only recently found white trainers that suit me - Adidas - so will be wearing them a while longer).

Junegirl15 · 29/05/2023 21:14

I got some white Puma trainers from Amazon and they have been the most comfortable trainers ever - and looked great. However agree with pp that colourful trainers seem to be the next teen - like Hoff trainers…..will still wear my white Pumas though

NCFThis · 29/05/2023 21:29

I have heard about this @goldenlocks @Junegirl15. But I am not so on trend otherwise to be able to carry solid colour ones I guess. 37, mum of 2 and not really into following trending fashion so much. And just the idea of not having to think about if it goes with the outfit or not makes it easier I guess. Just out of curiosity though, what's the current trend then? And does it mean people need multiple colours for trainers to compliment outfits

I mean I just bought some air and grace navy trainers (not on brief but nice) and also these Clarkes ones which may not be high fashion but I think are neat and smart and from wearing today are super comfy. And on sale.

Some nice colours to choose from but I still like my white trainers

champagneplanet · 29/05/2023 23:05

I love these, and they are very reasonably priced too. Going to buy another pair.

Yes those are the ones I have @champagneplanet. They are so comfortable but look smart too

They're great aren't they. I'm the same as you i'll always wear white trainers with jeans or dresses, it's just a clean, classic look.

Changeforachange · 29/05/2023 23:33

@champagneplanet @Junegirl15

I have them too!

I think they look really smart & neat. And a bargain.

IForgotOurSong · 29/05/2023 23:43

I had the same debate with myself about whether or not I wanted something different but ended up buying white leather converse, I’ve worn them every day since I got them a couple of months ago.

myheadisspinningoutofcontrol · 30/05/2023 01:21

You can't beat converse

scrivette · 30/05/2023 06:40

The Puma ones above are very nice.

I love my Adidas Superstars, they are very comfortable for my wide feet with bunions.

My Air Force 1's are great too, but might be a bit too chunky for the look you are after?

Heatherbell1978 · 30/05/2023 07:14

Bit of a trainer fiend here. I think you need to think budget and brand then go from there as there really are so many options. Places like M&S will do comfy reasonable price and you can pay up to £150 for the likes of Veja. From a plain white perspective I have Veja, Air and Grace, NB, M&S and just bought a pair of Nike Low Dunks which are a less platformed version of Air Force 1. I did order the Pumas linked above but didn't work for me.

LightBlueJeans · 30/05/2023 07:18

I love my white Superga trainers!

I love my white Superga trainers!

So do I! I have 3 pairs of leather ones.

Bearpawk · 30/05/2023 07:25

I've tried most and Stan smiths are super comfortable and last a good while

WhereAreWeNow · 30/05/2023 08:12

Fitflop Rally are great for me

WaitingfortheTardis · 30/05/2023 08:14

The Adidas Grand Court trainers are really versatile and wearing them makes me feel like I'm walking on a cloud.

pornhabit · 30/05/2023 10:00

Shein do a range of lacy trainers. I have 2 pairs. Really pretty and go with everything.

FusRoDah · 30/05/2023 10:23

I've got some pure white adidas superstars which are my smarter pair and some Bobs B's which are super comfy, but canvas so not so smart.

I don't really like the coloured ones that are around in the shops at the moment but haven't seen loads of people actually wearing them. The young on-trend folk where I work are all wearing these:
