Smart White Trainers?

NCFThis · 29/05/2023 20:45

Any recommendations for smart and versatile white trainers that would be great with a summer dress as well as a jeans and jumper, also comfortable enough for everyday use and travel. Don't need to look or feel very sporty, if you know what I mean. Would love to see some
you guys love!

I bought these a few weeks ago and have been wearing with dresses. Surprisingly comfy! They're a nice understated design and wipe clean easily too.

I second these. Really really comfy. I wear them with dresses and jeans.

I've tried most and Stan smiths are super comfortable and last a good while

I loved Stan Smiths until they went vegan. Nowhere near as comfortable and I can't find a suitable replacement. Air and Grace and Veja are really uncomfortable and I'm gutted I spent so much on them!

I vote for Adidas Grand Court as well, I wear mine quite often and they remain super-comfy. I picked this model, I think a couple of years ago. They are plain, but sometimes I do swap the original shoe laces for rope shoe strings with golden aglets and livelier colors. That rounds up most of the types of casual wear I have on rotation :)

champagneplanet · 30/05/2023 11:44

I've also got these Converse, they're leather with a scalloped edge do a bit prettier than the usual canvas type. These are comfy too, don't wear them as much since I got the Puma ones though.

I have Adidas superstars. In the past, I've also had Supergas. Having leather rather than canvas makes them smarter, in my opinion

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/05/2023 11:56

Another vote for the Pumas

Another vote for the Pumas

And from me! I love mine and I’ve had compliments on them from far younger and trendier persons Grin

Fitflop Rally are great for me

These work really well for me too. I realise they were never as cool as Stan Smiths, Veja, air force 1 etc etc even before white trainers in this shape are now 'out', but I have v high instep and also just find loads of shoes uncomfortable - I have converse high and low tops and some really nice Stan smiths and I don't wear any of them, the hurt my feet, I've come to the conclusion that Fitflops are one of the few I can reliably know will be comfortable (my issue is a shoe feels comfy when I first try it on but try walking around in it for an hour - that's when the problems start).

I'll still wear my Rallys (I've got white and gold) but quite after some fit flop F Mode now.

Oh wow!!!! Sooo many amazing suggestions. Thank you all so much. Will check all of them out. Puma seem quite popular and reasonable. M&S ones look very smart too. Going to order few of these today and try them on! With 2 kids and outdoor activities white canvas probably won't stay white for long! Will check converse leather ones though. Sorry I am unable to tag all of you individually for corresponding responses coz tagging is a pain when logged in from the app (if I scroll up to check usernames I lose my reply 🙄). Thanks again so much everyone! You all have been saviours at a critical time with an impending long travel and not much time to go browsing.

@Lemonyfuckit I have had that issue with few not so cheap trainers I got. And I happily had worn them outside so couldn't return. So will definitely check fitflops out.

Bit of a trainer fiend here. I think you need to think budget and brand then go from there as there really are so many options. Places like M&S will do comfy reasonable price and you can pay up to £150 for the likes of Veja. From a plain white perspective I have Veja, Air and Grace, NB, M&S and just bought a pair of Nike Low Dunks which are a less platformed version of Air Force 1. I did order the Pumas linked above but didn't work for me.

That's a great way to go about it actually! Super helpful. Thank you!

I have Skechers Gio Walk in white. May not be trendy but so comfortable from day one. Walking on air. They're not too chunky to wear with dresses but chunky enough to work with jeans and look good with wide leg trousers too.

NeverendingCircus · 30/05/2023 15:25

Go Walk not Gio Walk

NCFThis · 30/05/2023 15:26

Oh wow they look like will need a lot of thought trying to match them up with things. Or maybe I am too conscious to go crazy. And probably not that young 😂 {mention:Junegirl15}@champagneplanet exactly like you both. My current white trainers are the only ones I seem to wear for everything from school runs, work meetings to grocery shopping 🤣

@champagneplanet sorry the tag above did not work 🙄

These are really comfy, dont make my size 7's look like boats either, bonus.

Busybusybusy · 30/05/2023 17:07

Another vote for superga. Look great with jeans or dresses.

KevinDeBrioche · 30/05/2023 17:11

I love AF1s

Speermint · 30/05/2023 17:19

White trainers are a bit unfashionable now. I am very keen on these but waiting for them to restock my size! https://www.newbalance.co.uk/pd/made-in-uk-991v1/WL991V1-41859.html?dwvar_WL991V1-41859_style=W991PGG

Oh these look fab @EachandEveryone ! Are they not on trend? I love them! Thank you 😊
