Snag chub rub shorts help?

Godofwar · 29/05/2023 13:28

I love a pair of chub rub shorts but the ones I’ve been wearing in previous summers are cotton and quite thick which sucks on a roasting day.

I’ve heard Snag chub rub are much cooler and would love to try a pair but I’m so confused on the sizing. It doesn’t help that I’m between sizes. I’m a 10/12 and 5ft6 so going on their size chart I should be either a C or a D but I really don’t want them to be uncomfortable and cutting in especially when sitting down. Can anyone help? Please!

I was unsure about the tights material being too hot. It's not and they are very comfy. I sometimes have issues though with dresses clinging to the shorts and walking up my legs.

inomniaparatis · 13/06/2023 15:45

I'm a 10/12 too and C is perfect! They're very stretchy. Only had to buy a D pair when I reached 8 months pregnant to stretch over the bump!

TakeMe2Insanity · 13/06/2023 15:49

I bought the Tesco’s cooling chub rub shorts and have to say they are amazing. Super thin, light and not at all hot.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 13/06/2023 15:54

Have you looked at the Innersy ones on Amazon? They are lovely and comfy and stretchy and cool even in hot weather

I’m a size 12 and wear a D- they’re perfect.

I really rate them- light enough that they keep you cool but substantial enough that you don’t need knickers.

Surely you are meant to wear them with knickers?! They are like tights material, isn’t that just asking for thrush?! I always wear mine with knickers!

GracePalmer33 · 13/06/2023 16:01

Matalan do some awesome ones that are super silky material ... same material as those no VPL underwear you can buy everywhere now. Snag shorts weren't long enough for me.. infact, most of the chub rub shorts aren't long enough for me. My thighs don't just rub at the very top! They usually end at the worst place and then because my thighs are rubbing where the ends are they start to ride/roll up!!! Nightmare

Matalan are great though and the longest ones I've found.

M+S shorts are much better IMO.

Are these usually available instore?

ProseccoOnTap · 13/06/2023 16:03

I wore chub rub shorts in 40 degrees last summer - the bamboo material was so nice & cooling.

I'd say their sizing is generous.

I wouldn’t buy them again. I’m very pear shaped and the size that fits my chunky hips and thighs almost comes up to my bra! Sloggi and M&S ones both better.

trombelese · 13/06/2023 16:15

The M&S shorts are much better than the snag ones. My snag shorts snagged and the seams came undone, plus the fabric isn't as nice as the M&S ones so it makes a swishy noise when I walk.

monicagellerbing · 13/06/2023 16:42

Snag chub rub shorts are made of the same material as tights so they are extremely stretchy so you don't need to worry about getting the size exactly spot on

Topictwenty · 13/06/2023 16:20

I was going to buy these but the reviews are bad! Lots of rolling up apparently

Yes its correct
The non lacy ones are better

Startyabastard · 13/06/2023 16:56

I buy ones made out of leggings material... almost all cotton and a tiny bit of elastane.
Put sudocrem on the blisters.

Mutabiliss · 13/06/2023 17:11

I really like the Big Bloomers ones with the holey material (I think Urban style?). They're cooler for me than the Snag ones. The Snag ones are soft and nice to wear though, I just avoid them on very hot days.

Just ordered some M&S ones as I was ordering some other stuff, so will see.

Godofwar · 13/06/2023 18:52

I actually still haven’t bought any. I’ve been dithering over what to do as there has been such a difference in opinion! 😭😂

@trombelese whats the sizing like on tge M&S ones please? 12/14 or 16/18 is a bit if an odd way of sizing!

Applesandpears01 · 13/06/2023 20:57

Liquid talc from Asda has my recommendation

Notreallyawaitress · 13/06/2023 21:03

The Snag shorts are comfy but have an annoying bulky seam up the middle which shows through dresses

SquatBetty · 13/06/2023 21:03

Got some cotton cycling shorts from Primark after seeing them recommended on another chub rub shorts thread

They are perhaps a little thicker than I'd like but they are brilliant - they don't roll up at all which is an issue I've had with other shorts and are high waisted so fully cover my c section mum tum

Haveallthesongsbeenwritten · 13/06/2023 21:04

Soontobe60 · 29/05/2023 13:47

M+S shorts are much better IMO.

They roll up and down. I had them on today and they rolled down my tummy and up my thighs. I just put them in the bin. I cannot find a decent pair?

DIsForDelightful · 13/06/2023 21:07

Jumping onto this thread with interest. A few years ago I picked up a twin pack from m&s for £8 but they were like tights material. They were amazing and when the last pair died last summer I was gutted. Tried to get more but the time I asked the shop assistant was confused!
Anyone seen any? I don't fancy thick ones.

Colinorpercy · 13/06/2023 21:10

I have Women's Basic+ Long Brief Shorts amzn.eu/d/2Gq7JVu These Sloggi ones which are really good but quite expensive for one pair. The waistband is narrow so sits more like normal pants but I don’t mind that so much because it doesn’t roll. They are a nice cottony material too.

I also have a pair of marks ones (without the lace) but I find they ride up and the waist rolls over.
