Please help me find a swimsuit

I'm tearing my hair out trying to find a swimsuit that fits!

I need:

Long length. I'm 5' 7" so not that tall but all my height is in my body

Not a halter. I have neck issues and halter necks pull on the back of my neck and cause me headaches.

I'd like:

A plain colour Not black or blue. I look dead in black and the one swimsuit I already own is blue.

Something with a bit of detail. A cut out or a one-shoulder or something similar to make it a bit interesting. It's for a resort holiday with a bit of swimming rather than mainly for swimming if that counts.

I'm a size 8-10 but buy a 10 in swimsuits. D/DD boobs.

Places I've tried: next, M&S, John Lewis, boden, coco beach, simply beach, very, lots of other places. ASOS. Zalando

Don't want shein/primark etc. happy to pay up to about £130.

Can anyone suggest further places to look? Thank you.

Deakin & Blue

They do 3 size ranges to suit all body types

Cracking suits!

PenguinLove1 · 27/05/2023 22:16

Look at bravissimo

QueenMabby · 27/05/2023 22:18

Thank you. I've looked at most of those places already and they either don't have proper long swimsuits or they're a bit utilitarian. The thing is. I don't really actually swim in my swimsuits! Just lie on a lounger and pop in for a quick dip every now and again.

I really love this one from Reiss but (a) it is likely to be too short for me and (b) it's pretty much exactly the same colour as the swimsuit I have already!

Done that. All rather patterned and not actually long - just for big boobs.

What about a tankini? Might be easier to get the length you need?

Absolutely loads of brand suggestions here, surely you can't hate all of them?!

atthebottomofthehill · 27/05/2023 22:39

I have Boden and seafolly swimwear. I need a long body too but asi lots of structure because I have small boobs and a big tummy. Your figure sounds enviable and if you could wear that reiss one then I feel like the world is your oyster...

waltzingparrot · 27/05/2023 22:42

Try Lands End

WashableVelvet · 27/05/2023 22:43

Seafolly? Lovely quality and fit.

that Reiss one looks like the cutout mead it can fit quite long.

Wallabyone · 27/05/2023 22:52

I'm 5'6'' and a size 10 but I tend to buy a 12 in one pieces to get the length and it usually works well. Last year, I went into John Lewis and tried on lots, even ones I didn't think I would like, and I ended up with three. I bought an Anyday one which is surprisingly good.
Also, Cupshe are decent quality.

MidnightMeltdown · 28/05/2023 00:19

I usually get tankinis. I find swimsuits too short in the body and a massive faff if you need to use the loo.

Kendaland · 28/05/2023 03:53

Seafolly
Cupshe
John Lewis

BarbaraofSeville · 28/05/2023 04:03

Another vote for a tanking. Look at Fantasie, Freya or Pour Moi.

steelseries · 28/05/2023 06:39

Have you tried JCrew? Their long torso range is amazing.

@claracluck1978 - thanks for the Deakin & Blue recommendation upthread .
Had never heard of them , now need to choose between four of their swimsuits …!

Ditto!! They're really nice, I'm torn between two different bikini tops (the bra one and the plunge one) and one of the liberty print swimsuits...

LaCerbiatta · 28/05/2023 07:20

Some nice ones here, but don't know if long enough.

I'm 5'8' with a long body. Deakin and Blue aren't long enough for me. I like the Land's End "tugless" range which come in various combos of "long" and different cup sizes.

You're welcome! I have 4 and have had the oldest for 3 years. I swim 3 x a week and only now has it started to fade from the chlorine.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 28/05/2023 07:46

Randomly - Sainsbury's ordinary swimwear is long in the body.

I don't like tankinis, the top and bottom never meet.

QueenMabby · 28/05/2023 07:51

Thanks everyone. I don't know how to do multiple quotes (I'm on the app) but to the pp who asked how it is possible that I hated all the ones from the brands suggested - it's not that I hated them all, just that they weren't what I was looking for. It's frustrating but I do tend to get a picture in my head of what I want and then get cross if I can't find it!!

To the pps who recommended seafolly - yes - I love them. Have ordered and tried two - both too short.

I'll try J Crew.

Yesterday I looped my tape measure around my torso (between my legs and up and over my shoulder). I measured 65 inches. Given that most swimsuits are 24-27 inches in length (so double to 48-52") you'll see why I'm struggling!
