Please help me find a swimsuit

I'm tearing my hair out trying to find a swimsuit that fits!

I need:

Long length. I'm 5' 7" so not that tall but all my height is in my body

Not a halter. I have neck issues and halter necks pull on the back of my neck and cause me headaches.

I'd like:

A plain colour Not black or blue. I look dead in black and the one swimsuit I already own is blue.

Something with a bit of detail. A cut out or a one-shoulder or something similar to make it a bit interesting. It's for a resort holiday with a bit of swimming rather than mainly for swimming if that counts.

I'm a size 8-10 but buy a 10 in swimsuits. D/DD boobs.

Places I've tried: next, M&S, John Lewis, boden, coco beach, simply beach, very, lots of other places. ASOS. Zalando

Don't want shein/primark etc. happy to pay up to about £130.

Can anyone suggest further places to look? Thank you.

Boden do a long body range, you often need to size up as well in their swimwear

QueenMabby · 28/05/2023 07:53

Meant to say - I've tried tankinis in the past and just can't get on with them. There's always a gap between the top and the bottom and the bottom of the tankini is always baggy on me so it looks odd.

Can’t cope with tankinis either, one piece all the way for me ( too old and too chubby for bikinis, sadly ….🥲).

TK Maxx tend to have lots of nice swimsuits in this time of year, lots of different brands, may be worth a look.

AnotherDayAnotherUsernameForMe · 28/05/2023 08:40

I have a long torso and Boden long range are all halter neck or very plain black/blue this year.
This one from monsoon was absolutely long enough when I tried it, I just need two straps to feel comfortable.

@Toomanycaketins and @AnotherDayAnotherUsernameForMe - my other swimsuit (and one of my bikinis) is from Boden. A long from them is fine on me but their range in long this year is a bit disappointing and virtually all halter necks unfortunately.

I'm coming to the realisation that I'm probably just too fussy! Maybe I should design my own line of long length, elegant, stylish swimsuits because no one else seems to be doing it!

Karen Millen?

Comes in different colours. No idea about fit but returns are easy.

To avoid the gap you just need to get high waited bottoms. John Lewis and M&S do them

I have a 'shapely' bum and cannot stand arse cheeks hanging out the back of a costume, so would usually go for these kinds of styles.

RavingStone · 29/05/2023 12:18

I have a brilliant long tall Sally swimsuit. Really good quality. Someone linked a swimsuit the other day from Andie Swim ( I think??) which looked beautiful, but was expensive. They had an option for long bodies.

QueenMabby · 29/05/2023 12:41

But there's no green! I've really got my heart set on an olive/Kharki/sagey green swimsuit.

J Crew had one.... but not in long. Boden had one...but not without a halter neck.

Once you select long body all the nice colours disappear and I'm left with navy or patterned, both of which I've got already.

I appreciate i probably sound whiney and petulant but I just get cross that the shops can't mind-read and miraculously produce what I want!! 🤣🤣

I like Pour Moi swim wear, have you checked these?

QueenMabby · 29/05/2023 13:37

@cannaecookrisotto - they don't seem to do long swimsuits unfortunately.

@GettingStuffed - it's nice but I can't wear black unfortunately and the only green one that have is that funny textured material which I don't like.

I wasn't kidding when I said I was fussy!

Ideally I'd like either of these in a long!

They're both currently packaged up to send back as they're too short. Lovely though.

I think you might at some point need to accept that what you want doesn't exist 🤪

I know. I'm happy to be cross about it for a little while longer though!

TOTEME and Faithful the brand might be a bit over budget but both long bodied and a little bit different.

Thegirlisnotright · 30/05/2023 13:25

Next have a tall range of swimsuits

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/05/2023 13:54

This is not specifically "long" but if you read the reviews it would appear to be. Might be with ordering to try olive green swimsuit]]

CharlotteStreetW1 · 30/05/2023 20:01

QueenMabby · 27/05/2023 22:18

Thank you. I've looked at most of those places already and they either don't have proper long swimsuits or they're a bit utilitarian. The thing is. I don't really actually swim in my swimsuits! Just lie on a lounger and pop in for a quick dip every now and again.

I really love this one from Reiss but (a) it is likely to be too short for me and (b) it's pretty much exactly the same colour as the swimsuit I have already!

www.reiss.com/g881432s1/d57925#d57925

As gorgeous as the Reiss one is - and it is - all I can see is comedy sun burn tan marks 😬

QueenMabby · 31/05/2023 10:32

Yes. I get that. I don't sunbathe though as such - just read my book in the shade!!

Try Andie Swim - they have lovely costumes and you can choose the long torso option.
