I have ordered this and can't decide whether it's lovely or terrible 😂. I am drawn to the fugly things in fashion. I love a fugly pair of shoes for example.

But is this just massively dumpy looking?

I am tall and can usually pull off this sort of shape, so that isn't my concern. It's the print I'm in two minds about.

What do you think? Terrible? Amazing? Neither? Return it? Keep it? Burn it and stage an exorcism?

The fabric's lovely, but the cut's a bit wafty, I think. But I always look like a matron on a school outing to an Austrian church in Toast clothes, which is a shame, because they are lovely shapes, they just don't seem to work on bodies that go in and out a bit.

DH bought me the pyjamas in that fabric and it is a lovely, light cotton. They are lovely for summer.

I actually have a couple of dresses like that too. Bought from a local shop that imports clothes from India. They only cost about £39, not £120! They are perfect for when it’s a million degrees centigrade in the privacy of MIL’s garden in Provence in August, with a bikini underneath. But I’m not sure I would be seen in public in them!

captncrunch · 24/05/2023 17:14

Like the print but not the cut. I get that it's lounge wear but can't imagine spending that much on lounge wear!

Wexone · 24/05/2023 17:17

Have you actually tried it on? I like the print and style however i have a small frame and unless its a normal fit as apposed to the trend of relaxed fit these days, it could hang on me. for the price i would be looking at the material make up and what their sustainability ethos is though

BelindaBears · 24/05/2023 17:17

I’d wear that if I was tall and slim and elegant. As it is, I’d resemble Homer Simpson in a muumuu.

PaddlingPoollyColour · 24/05/2023 17:23

I'm not especially slim, but somehow voluminous can look good on me. I think I'm an unusual shape!

I love it. But then I love these kind of dresses with chunky dm sandals in summer and dm boots for winter. If you like it then go for it x

ShimmeringShirts · 24/05/2023 17:29

Well Toast is certainly good for fugly fashion. Not to my taste but if you like it then keep it.

ActDottie · 24/05/2023 17:30

It is a bit frumpy but k can imagine on a hot day it’s really loose and refreshing!

PaddlingPoollyColour · 24/05/2023 17:31

Yes, I have some chunky black flatform sandals and some (fugly) t-bar type flat, closed toe sandals I'm eyeing up too. So I would have the 'correct' footwear I think.

I suppose I'll wait till it's here and try it on.

I really like it. I'm tall but probably too blessed in the bristols dept to carry it off.

MamTDM · 24/05/2023 17:34

They put me in something very similar for my last colonoscopy. Sorry, OP!

I really dislike the pattern but think the shape is ok for wearing post shower / around the house. I wouldn’t wear it out of the house and I wouldn’t pay £120 for it.

I’ve got a plain white one similar to yours from Zara for about £50.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 24/05/2023 17:35

Sorry it's a no from me especially at £120. It just screams nana nightie

Mirabai · 24/05/2023 17:40

Toast make clothes for old ladies to die in. They cost as much as a coffin too.

PrincessofWellies · 24/05/2023 17:44

catmothertes1 · 24/05/2023 17:04

£120 for such a dress? Asda is full of the same style at the moment.

But the Asda ones are viscose . . .

penniesmakeshillingsandshillingsmakepounds · 24/05/2023 17:46

I kinda like it. It's quirky. I couldn't carry it off because I am super short but I would love to.

Mischance · 24/05/2023 17:48

It's a helluva lot of money for a bit of curtain material slung together as a sack!

ThatFraggle · 24/05/2023 17:48

Maybe if it was a fiver. For £120 I want to look amazing.

pictoosh · 24/05/2023 17:48

That's an expensive nightie.

SpringIntoChaos · 24/05/2023 17:52

It's a nightie self-identifying as a dress 🤣

No from me OP I'm afraid 👎

BraceletOfWisdom · 24/05/2023 17:52

It'll look great if you accessorize it with a drip stand and shuffle down a corridor.
