I love ballet flats, you'll never get me out of them. But then again i'm one of those strange types that still wears jeggings so take from that what you will! Smile

Fabulous. You do what suits you, that's what style is all about.

I have my white Birkenstocks on today, not at work, though, and all summer I think I'll just wear these/ the black ones as they are so comfortable that they just feel like an extension of my feet. Swithering with a new tan pair as the ones I own are very old!

Best shoes for me working in a school were clarks originals wallabees. So comfortable and somehow work in warm and cold weather. They have cult status in Jamaica.
I love ballet flats but my feet don't accept them any more. I would get them with a slight heel.

SybilWrites · 27/05/2023 06:48

If I'm going to the office I'll wear trainers probably.

If I'm at meetings I'll wear loafers, or pointed flats or smart trainers depending on who I'm meeting. I won't wear open sandals.

@Caspianberg thank you for the Think link. I like those very much.

Memery shoes may be another option. Will try to link

Sketcher loafers. Not the most attractive, but comfortable and I walk to work in them too.

Bloke here.

White trainers go with anything.

Don't sweat it.

almostoverthehill · 27/05/2023 18:59

I would always wear loafers

What, with a formal suit?

I don't think so, bloke.

I recommend magnus shoes- for wide size 9 feet... they are amazing- lots of choice in lots of different styles. By far the most choice that me and my 9.5 wide feet have had in ages!!

How about these?

Lowish enough heel to be comfortable but smart enough to wear with a dress or trousers. I have 3/4 pairs in different colours to co-ordinate with most outfits.

We recently adopted a more causal attitude to our 'dress code'. Last year ladies were wearing summer dresses with Veja camp trainers.

Justpondering12 · 28/05/2023 00:45

Veja Campo**

Daffodilwoman · 28/05/2023 06:44

I walk to work in white sketchers Joy Go Walk. They are so comfortable. I sometimes change into flat black shoes with a strap across. I can’t wear ballet flats or anything without a strap across, I just can’t keep them on my feet. Sometimes I wear a gold wooden heeled sandal but I wouldn’t walk far in heels.

Gwenhwyfar · 28/05/2023 11:04

"What, with a formal suit?"

I know someone who does that. I agree it's not a good look.

eglantine7 · 28/05/2023 13:00

Comfy loafers make sense for work. There are also lots in shops because they are "in" right now.

FlutteryButterfly · 28/05/2023 15:26

Flip flops and even then I normally end up bare foot. The nature of my job allows it 😆

SilverGlitterBaubles · 28/05/2023 16:21

Anyone tried the Fit Flop ballet flats?
