At what age (honestly) did you look your best?

Society tells us that youth is beautiful, but I look at photos of myself at 18 and think I looked a total state! No idea about how to dress, skincare, and I still had the puppy fat.

Maybe I'm deluded, but I think I started to look my best from my very late 20s (in early 30s now), but maybe that's due to lots of things - being healthier, exercising more, better fashion, taking care of my skin etc.

I’d say 25-27 for sure.

Then I lost myself for a few years but at almost 31 I’m starting to find my feet again and I’m looking better 😂

BitOutOfPractice · 21/05/2023 22:10

40-45. My peak I think

Hairday · 21/05/2023 22:13

About 4. I had great skin, a lovely smile, and an amazing range of smocked frocks

tunainatin · 21/05/2023 22:13

There was a period in my mid twenties when I kind of peaked but actually I really liked my face in my mid 30s - it went slimmer and I think that made me more attractive until the wrinkles/drooping started!

TooOldForThisNonsense · 21/05/2023 22:13

Objectively probably from when I was about 24 - 28

But I actually feel happier with myself now I am 50 in a few days and have no wrinkles or lines. Which is more unusual at 50 than in mid 20s!

Georgie8 · 21/05/2023 22:16

37
Everything was perfect!
Had just had eldest.
Still had 23” waist and perky boobs.
Fast forward a decade…….
… another child
Nothing quite as perky, waist measurements inverted 🤣 (ie 32’) but still happy.

Mammyloveswine · 21/05/2023 22:51

29/30... I looked glowing!! I'm 36 now and 4 stone heavier so trying hard to it! Determined to be "fit at 40l!

Anskl · 21/05/2023 23:26

In my 20s I had a figure to die for. I look back now at my clothes and makeup though and wonder what on earth I was thinking.
By 32 I was styling myself in a way that actually flattered me and looked a lot more youthful than my years, so I'd say that was when I looked my best.
I'm 44 now and have to make way more effort than I did to look good, plus I've gained a lot of weight which doesn't help. I still have good skin and hair though, so it could be worse.

Geppili · 21/05/2023 23:43

25

MrsRandom123 · 21/05/2023 23:44

28 after being over weight all my life i started a diet when my daughter was 1 as i was horrified when i almost got stuck on a slide with her. Didn’t want to be the fat mum at the school gates, wanted to ride rollercoasters with her when she got older or run around after her. I was at my biggest & it took me 14 months to do it but i got to a size 8. I had less wrinkles, time to do my hair & put a bit of make up on & finally started to dress better. It went out the window a bit when i had twins at 30. I’m 38 now & only just getting back to feeling a bit like that again but my elsc left me with a pouch / overhang so i look pregnant no matter what i wear, quite a few wrinkles now, grey hairs are coming in & i just think “eugh” hair needs q cut & style too, need some new clothes but have zero motivation. I’m thin again but not like how i was a decade a go especially running about after 3 kids now.

EbonyRaven · 21/05/2023 23:45

22 to 35.

MrsMitford3 · 21/05/2023 23:47

I think late 20's. I still remember a compliment I got in a pub with now DH.

I even know exactly what I was wearing.
I went to the loo and a rather old grizzled man said to me in passing "I love a good looking woman" and it really made me feel wonderful

Flipflops123 · 22/05/2023 00:05

23

WhiteBloatus · 22/05/2023 00:20

early to mid 30s in between children I’d say? Yes a few more wrinkles than in my 20s, but feel like I had a better developed sense of my own style, and also what worked for me best in terms of things like hair, makeup… after that point I started noticing my neck looking older, jowls etc, that I now can’t unsee!

  1. I was super fit, ab lines, toned and when I look back at pictures I looked stunning. I looked much better than I ever did in my teens or 20s. 30s was definitely the decade.

Same almost word for word!

Mid fifties now so I have some perspective on the matter 😂

I needed to grow into myself and that's how long it took for me.

tobee · 22/05/2023 00:26

Whenever it was I didn't appreciate it ConfusedSad

QueefQueen80s · 22/05/2023 00:27

Genuinely my age now, 38. I wouldn't go back to teens if you paid me, I don't get the obsession. I love it when womens faces lose the roundness in 30s and 40s

User1438423 · 22/05/2023 00:27

Looking through photos, exactly age 25. Definitely not 18.

QueefQueen80s · 22/05/2023 00:29

PermanentTemporary · 21/05/2023 21:48

At my most confident and with a stone off - 49-50.

I was probably objectively hottest at 21 - 22 but who isn't? I couldn't stand my own face at that time and also thought my breasts and bum were underwhelming. I wish I'd understood that I looked good. But because most women are breathtaking at that age I was well below average. Tbf all the women in my family have better sharper cheekbones as we age which helps.

"Breathtaking" I don't see it, for myself, my friends back then etc.. you're just perpetuating the obsession with youth.

optimistic40 · 22/05/2023 00:30

I think it kind of comes and goes depending on confidence, sleep, health... I had a definite good patch between 33 and 42, and seem to have gone into a slump which I hope passes!!

WandaWomblesaurus · 22/05/2023 00:31

Now, 50.
Healthier than I've ever been and I'm really comfortable in my own skin.

AnyaMarx · 22/05/2023 00:32

30 .
Looked amazing.

Wasn't bad up to 15 months ago tbh .

Inkypot · 22/05/2023 00:34

28! I looked fantastic at 28. I was young, single, had all the time in the world to exercise and had the cash to spend on just myself so could buy all the fancy clothes and make up etc 😄
Now I'm older, married, have older kids and a little less spare cash. I definitely don't look anywhere near as good as I did at 28 but I can say hand on heart I am a far happier and more secure version of me now than I ever was then.
If I could just have the nice toned body back though that would be nice

Moonchild18 · 22/05/2023 00:37

Mid to late 20's, not bad till middle 30's now i'm pushing 40 and I look knackered with bags under my eyes and having to pull out my grey hairs!

Heatherbell1978 · 22/05/2023 06:05

Mid to late twenties pre-kids. Very slim and good looking. Kids have aged me so much it's depressing.
