Summer evening/party dress.

I need a dress! It's going to be an evening drinks party, indoors with disco in early June. So far I like this dressed up with some heels but not 100% sure the colour will suit me. So can anyone improve on it? Needs to cover knees and not be tight and clingy on my stomach. I'm a size 12 and 5'7" and a well balanced straightish shape.

I love that dress but the colour is a bit autumnal.

You really need to work out what your best colours are. That would drain me horribly but on the right person would be glorious.

I think it's a colour I could get away with but probably not my best one- I don't really believe in colour analysis all that much and don't slavishly follow any rules, but I'm a soft summer and this would probably be a just slightly warmer soft autumn colour so something I could carry off with the right makeup.

I wish this style came in a blue!

I wouldn't go for anything satin if you want to avoid highlighting a tummy. I know it's not tight, but satin clings to any lump or bump

I still tend to look in oasis and warehouse for nice dresses. Not that I ever buy one!

I wouldn't buy anything in a colour i 'could get away with'.

I think I look best in shades of soft medium blue and cool muted greens. Navy can look nice and soft greys and some shades of pink. These are apparently my colours, so that dress is not far out. I don't want to get too hung up on colour- the dress itself is more important to me as long as it's not a colour that will look horrible on me.

Not keen on that navy one above- looks like it's too heavy and too much fabric for a summer party.

Ghost dresses are usually a heavy crepe satin that drapes well- not the fine cheap satin which you see those slip dresses made of that clings.

I'm very pale skinned with blonde hair so tend to go for the lighter colours.

Might try this one instead although just not keen on the elasticated sleeve as think it might irritate me.

It's a pretty dress, sounds right for the event. It's not too "autumnal" I don't believe in "colours" analysis at all.
