What style/colour handbag for summer?

I fancy a camera bag (I'm guessing I'm behind the times) and not sure what colour to go with everything in the summer. I do like a silver bag but someone said oh are we back in the 90's when they saw my little silver rucksack - not sure if they meant colour or style 😑
Shall I stick with silver or possibly nude? Are camera bags already too dated? Like pom pom London? Also any good non leather recommendations would be good. Don't want big, don't want little - I need a goldilocks bag 😊.

I still see a lot of people wearing the Oliver Bonas type ones with the colourful fabric straps, don't know why they seem 'mumsy' to me 😅 but I do like a good camera bag, very handy for travelling and busy places. Colour would depend on what goes with your clothes. For non leather have a look at matt and nat.

@NightOwlNotEarlyBird I am mumsy so perhaps that's why they appeal 😊. Looked at matt and nat - I like their stuff but can't quite see what I'm after. I forgot oliver bonas do them. Is silver naff for you think?
@Niftythrifter i have had luck in tkmax before but I might have this for my birthday and it it so easy for my DH to get it right. 😊
@midsomermurderess i love the pom pom ones - I don't think they do vegan leather though. What do you think to silver?

@Leah2005 I wouldn't personally go for silver as silver and gold bags seem more dressy than everday. What colours do you usually wear more of? A nude/neutral colour would go with everything but something brighter would be nice for summer.

@NightOwlNotEarlyBird hmmm I do have a rather random summer colour palette 😊 (which I haven't yet released from winter storage). I perhaps need to get it all out and fathom out what would work best. I'm not one for having a selection of different bags.

Not a camera bag, but I use an orange bag in summer - goes with a surprising number of colours. A bit like tan.

I don't like those camera bags that everybody seems to have- the ones with the fancy webbing straps in grained leather with really tacky looking gold hardware.

I'm probably very boring but I tend to go for neutral colours. Brown/tan leather, straw and lighter shades in summer.

I've got a couple of black bags and I think one coloured one which is a pink clutch matched to a wedding guest outfit.

I see coloured bags I like but then feel limited by them and don't like things too 'matchy'.

I do find sliver bags look dated and quite cheap even if they're not.

This is similar to my current day bag and I love it.

I used to love metallic bags and camera bags but both looks dated now especially those camera bags with fabric straps.

I think silver could still work in another style. I think it's partly about not having a very rigid bag for summer, heavy rigid shapes/materials don't look very carefree to me. I think it's hard to find a good summer bag tbh OP

When I've had metallic bags, I've only used them in the evening as they seem a bit dressy to me.

I've just bought a bright orange Holland bag from Asos which is lovely . Slightly bigger and boxier than a camera bag and I got a leopard print strap to go with it. I find it goes with loads. Pretty sure they do them in other colours.

Except coral, which is my main summer colour 😩

@GetBackinTheMilkYouRubberyGit I hadooked at that style - I think the uniqlo one is very popular. However I have big boobs and I think it would look like a hammock for my breasts 😁

I carry around more crap in the summer so go for a canvas hobo type bag. Current one is a nice shade of green.
