Not sure if I've lost my mind or not- if a yes would wear with really simple dark jeans and white crew neck tee.

I think it would look great if it was the only 'fancy' thing you were wearing. So, wear it with jeans, sneakers, a plain t-shirt and a small, plain cross body bag or something like that.

pansiesinmygarden · 26/04/2023 11:09

I think some could pull it off, but it's quite pricey for a pattern (paisley) that is likely to go out of fashion probably quite soon (as it's everywhere now)

NoraLuka · 26/04/2023 11:11

I like it, it would be nice as long as the rest of the outfit was plain.

Do you have Desigual in the UK? That’s full of stuff like this!

Porkandbeans1 · 26/04/2023 11:11

I love it OP! I think it would look lovely dressed up or dressed down.

CovetedAsFuck · 26/04/2023 11:17

I feel you're getting drawn in by the discount, which I understand because that happens to me too, but it can distort your idea of how useful something will actually be.

Mentally weigh it against something you've wanted for longer but struggled to justify, and then see if you still feel like the jacket is the best use of £75.

Different vibe but much more stylish. In every way.

I think that's dull tbh. It looks like the wearer doesn't have the courage to step out of a very safe rut.

Tangfastic71 · 26/04/2023 11:57

If you want to be boring and look like everyone else then send it back. I think it’s fabulous and nearly ordered it myself a few weeks ago but I have a wardrobe full of “out there” blazers already. Take yourself to a festival this year so you can see what other people who don’t just want to blend in dress like. It will make you feel more comfortable dressing in a way that says “I give no shits what anyone else thinks”. With jeans and a white tee this would look gorgeous. Don’t expect everyone to agree or like, but who wants to be like everyone else??

Tangfastic71 · 26/04/2023 12:00

This one looks really old fashioned to me. Original blazer posted by the OP is much nicer and more original.

ZenNudist · 26/04/2023 12:07

I don't think spring is the time to buy a velvet blazer. I had a black one which was good in the winter but its very sweaty even in cool weather. Dont get one for summer. Itll stink!

Plus not a fan of the colours. It's scratch it your eyes bad. Sorry send it back!

YunaBalloon · 26/04/2023 12:12

I love it. I could never pull it off though.

This is good advice. Would you rather put the £75 towards a jacket you love even more?

HeadNorth · 26/04/2023 13:56

That is polyester and looks quite frumpy to me. The OP's jacket is stand out colours, classic Paisley pattern and cotton velvet - miles nicer.

Milksheikha · 26/04/2023 13:59

Pretty much sums up why Boden is failing.

LilacpointMummy · 26/04/2023 14:09

Ooh I sort of love it - have just ordered it from Next!

BoredOfThisMansWorld · 26/04/2023 14:12

I love it! And the l&y jacket mentioned earlier. They're both joyful.

But my aesthetic does err towards maximalist bag lady.

LlynTegid · 26/04/2023 14:25

Like it but expensive for what it is I think.

Findyourneutralspace · 26/04/2023 14:32

I'm afraid to say, I think you have lost your mind...

HappyMe6 · 26/04/2023 15:11

No no never

MaltedCow · 26/04/2023 15:12

I like it, but I bought myself a very brightly patterned blazer last year. I'm clearly drawn in by the colour.

AmyDudley · 26/04/2023 15:13

Has the circus come to town ?

FancyFanny · 26/04/2023 17:37

Here’s me in the blazer!

You'll have to click on it to see full length shot!

I'm not sure exactly what people mean when they talk about carrying off. What makes one person able to carry it off but not another?

OP posts:
Tangfastic71 · 26/04/2023 17:47

I think it looks great but would look even better with lighter jeans. Honestly please keep it - if you want something that the majority like then you’ll look like the majority. And who wants that?

PrettyMaybug · 26/04/2023 17:55

Urgh!

FancyFanny · 26/04/2023 17:56

OK- I'll try it with lighter jeans too! 🙂
