Not sure if I've lost my mind or not- if a yes would wear with really simple dark jeans and white crew neck tee.

Love it, clothes that are not for the shy and retiring will always divide opinion but actually if this is 'you' then it'll look fabulous. I would love it!

Life is too short not to wear something you love. My honest opinion, though, (as someone who’s older than you) is that it may give you a look of ‘brave older woman who has decided to embrace eccentricity’. If you’re cool with that, go for it. Personally, I’m not quite ready for my ‘wear purple with a red hat’ stage 😄

Yes, that is exactly what I'm afraid I'll look like. I'll take a pic and post it later today when I try it on with a suitable outfit.

Would only wear casually with jeans- shopping in the city, drinks in the local etc.

I love it!!! I'd definitely buy it if I could afford it. I bet it looks great on you 🙂

It was only £75 at Next.

Not unless you have a good figure and are tall otherwise you'd look like a sofa cushion.

sylvandweller · 26/04/2023 07:13

I'd put this over a black dress. Sleek body con type thing

GoodVibesHere · 26/04/2023 07:20

You are SO never going to wear it! That is going to be in your wardrobe forever waiting to be worn.

HyacinthBookay · 26/04/2023 07:21

I hate it.

WoofWoofBeachLife · 26/04/2023 07:33

I like the trousers, I couldnt pull off that jacket. Let's see a pic x

Magnoliainbloom · 26/04/2023 07:38

It’s the most hideous jacket I’ve ever seen. I like colour and unusual patterns, but this is just awful. Some people can carry off weird stuff, but I just can’t see this being flattering in anyone.

Malloryhitops · 26/04/2023 07:39

Absolutely LOVE this jacket 🤩❤️

SoupDragon · 26/04/2023 07:45

It's a "fuck no!" from me 😂😂

I have very plain taste though.

HeadNorth · 26/04/2023 07:47

I love it! I have a William Morris patterned jacket that admittedly does not get a lot of wear, but sometimes over jeans and a shirt, or a plain dress, it makes it an outfit.

ZaZathecat · 26/04/2023 08:12

It's not a safe choice, but if you wear it with confidence you'll rock it!

BellePeppa · 26/04/2023 08:13

If you love it wear it. It really doesn’t matter if other people like it or not. When I have a favourite jumper (I like jumpers) I don’t care about other’s negative opinions if I love it.

Daffodilwoman · 26/04/2023 08:16

It’s a no from me.
However I think people who like this type of thing don’t really care what others think. That’s the vibe I’m getting, so if you like it then that’s all that matters.

Cliff1975 · 26/04/2023 08:18

I love it and if i had your height and figure- absolutely.

TollgateDebs · 26/04/2023 08:34

I have this jacket, owned since the middle of last year. It fits well and is flattering on my body shape, wears well, works brilliantly over navy blue, denim, and my favourite way to wear it is with jeans and a green jumper that matches the green in the jacket. I've worn it to work, supermarket, anywhere and I do not believe in occasion wear as such, just wear what you want and when you want. It is a bright, happy, jacket and I have two older versions of a velvet patterned jacket, both from Boden, the oldest about 10 years old and they are also worn regularly. If you love it, buy it and enjoy. Clothing should be fun, a way of expressing your personality and not wearing something to hide behind and tbh I just look better (and less miserable) in a brighter jacket. Go on try it, nothing to lose.

PictureConsequences · 26/04/2023 08:42

I agree with the dark shirt underneath and jeans. I like it but I can be a little alternative. But with dark too and bottoms, I don't think it's too wild.

NatashaDancing · 26/04/2023 08:49

I like the pattern. I hate that shapeless straight up and down "blazer" style in any fabric or colour.

I would wear the pattern but the jacket would need to be shorter and neater. No lapels and would button up to neck. There could be a slight flare in the body and the back cut with either a swing or an inverted pleat.

Agree with you. I don't like that style of jacket - full stop. But otherwise I agree with what you say. If that style appeals and fits with what you wear go for it.

Catspyjamas17 · 26/04/2023 09:20

I love the blazer @FancyFanny but don't think I could carry off the full suit.

Indeed. I have a VERY similar one by Liz Claiborne bought 15 years ago in an Outlet store.
I still really love the jacket hence not getting shot if it but I must have worn it about twice.
That 4 weddings and a Funeral jacket is amazing though. I’ve tried to find a few times over the years.
