Chanel loafers thoughts please?

Love these loafers and found them with black logos but they are typically Chanel priced at £1040!

Am I mad to buy them as a present for myself?

Had lots going on lately IVF all sorts of BS and just want to treat myself 😊

What do you think of them?

Chanel loafers thoughts please?

Don't disregard the post upthread about feet growing in pregnancy and never going back! Mine went up a whole size.

Porkandbeans1 · 29/04/2023 18:01

I love them op.

ivfregret · 29/04/2023 17:56

😂 I definitely prefer the black as they're much more descreet the gold is too much for me and they don't appear to have the gold anyway!

I don't usually like much bling but I actually prefer the gold

OneForTheRoadThen · 29/04/2023 18:54

Go for it!

NewDogOwner · 29/04/2023 19:06

I gasped when I saw them.

AprillaCourt · 29/04/2023 19:47

I prefer the gold (unusually for me) but I love the style of the shoe.

Go for it @ivfregret & enjoy the experience 🙂

ivfregret · 29/04/2023 21:13

I did it! 🎉😂

Also re the black vs gold the black is definitely more me as it is more low key which is my style and it will also match more of my wardrobe so definitely no regrets on the colour

Congratulations! 🥳 living vicariously through you as they are on my list but not going to happen for now as I have so many things on my list!

MrsSkylerWhite · 29/04/2023 21:30

No shoes are “worth” that much.

if you like them and can afford them though, Knick yourself out.

AprillaCourt · 29/04/2023 21:31

Congrats @ivfregret 😀

Wishing you health to wear them 🙂

ivfregret · 30/04/2023 10:46

Hi ladies another update - I took a pregnancy test this morning and it's positive 😳

Can't quite believe it but am also not getting excited as I've had many previous disappointments

Anyway I post that to ask has anyone's feet stayed same size if their pregnancy did work out because these shoes are absolutely perfect fit! And being canvas material aren't going to stretch!!

OP posts:
ivfregret · 30/04/2023 10:47

Also just asking incase the off chance this pregnancy does work don't want to waste 1k on shoes I won't be able to wear 😂

ShinyShinyShinyBootsOfLeather · 30/04/2023 10:48

Omg! That's unbelievable timing op

Fingers crossed for you.

My feet stayed the same size the whole way through pregnancy and beyond, but a friend went up a size. Sorry, not that helpful! Was there much room in them when you tried them on?

ivfregret · 30/04/2023 10:53

@ShinyShinyShinyBootsOfLeather very strange timing the day after buying these shoes! Also the same week I paid £700 to start my IVF!

Hope they provide refunds if it does work out.

Anyway, there is a little bit of room yes not massive amounts but a little as I had gone up half a size anyway but being loafers I can't go up again as they'd defiantly be slipping.

And also they didn't have any other sizes anyway.

AprillaCourt · 30/04/2023 11:06

Oh wow @ivfregret massive congratulations!

I did wonder if something like this might happen post-loafers - I had two friends who went down the fertility treatment road with me, after struggling for years one said sod it & bought a cream sofa, the other said sod it & bought a sports car...

Both pregnant next cycle 😀

(Sports car was sold in favour of family car, cream sofa took the hit & just got covered in baby food 😆)

My feet swelled in pregnancy both times but went back to normal afterwards.

I'll keep everything crossed that this pregnancy goes well & we get to see baby (Gabrielle/Gabriel?) in due course. Look after yourself 🙂

ivfregret · 30/04/2023 11:14

😂 thank you both. I will come back to the thread and update you either way.

I tend to be quite used to negative outcomes as mentioned so won't be a surprise if it doesn't end well but there's hope!

It is really strange timing though which in part makes me hope it's a sign it will happen this time. Maybe.

I've also stopped tracking anything taking folic, nothing - can't even tell you when my last period was but I took the test thinking on the off chance just because I'm out tonight don't want to drink alcohol obviously if am pregnant and have started to feel a little sick past week and my boobs achy way more than normal period stuff.

I never had symptoms with other pregnancies or most of them as I bled literally days in they never got that far so fingers crossed!

AprillaCourt · 30/04/2023 11:57

I totally understand the caution @ivfregret
When I eventually got pregnant I wouldn't entertain buying anything for the baby until I was past 24 weeks, didn't even want to discuss it.

I remember when I started getting sick the midwife at the fertility clinic said "Goooood" when I told her. I said it's not good, it's rubbish, I feel terrible & she said "excellent - long may it continue" & we laughed 😀

Get back on the folic acid at least! And don't think about the fact that if all goes well you'll be giving birth sometime around christmas/new year 😬

I'll keep you in my thoughts & send every good wish your way 🙂

ivfregret · 30/04/2023 12:00

@AprillaCourt thank you I'll update you in due course!

M previous pregnancies I bleed quite quickly so at least I've still got the IVF booked for Friday incase I still need to

Snowite · 30/04/2023 12:28

Hi @ivfregret cautious congratulations for you ❤️. In case it helps, I went up 1.5 shoe sizes in pregnancy and several years to go back to (almost) pre-preg size (not weight related). Chanel shoes tend to be very well made (I have 6 pairs), but if the hardware is ruthenium/black finish it's relatively fragile compared to gold/silver...lots of issues reported when this was introduced in bags. If you have not worn them yet I might consider getting a half size up with some leather insoles. Good luck.

sevenbyseven · 30/04/2023 14:35

Congratulations!

No idea how common it is for feet to change size but mine didn't at all, either during pregnancy or afterwards (3 kids).

ivfregret · 07/05/2023 20:22

A quick update I've kept the Chanel and the Zara loafer and absolutely love both! I haven't work outside yet but they're beautiful.

And also no bleeding yet and usually I have so fingers crossed this also could be rainbow baby 💜

wentworthinmate · 07/05/2023 22:19

Lovely. Go for it OP.

AprillaCourt · 09/05/2023 12:10

Lovely to hear from you @ivfregret I've been thinking of you & hoping all was still going well 🙂

Great that you're keeping both loafers - enjoy!

ivfregret · 09/05/2023 23:15

@AprillaCourt thank you so much for being so kind!

I still am bleed free!!! Cancelled my IVF and so far all is well, my first scan is 31st May although I think I'm further along than clear blue tests said I am. I never tracked my periods as I'd lost that much hope!

I also wore my shoes for the first time this evening. They aren't the most comfortable in the world but I still love them! 💜
