Chanel loafers thoughts please?

Love these loafers and found them with black logos but they are typically Chanel priced at £1040!

Am I mad to buy them as a present for myself?

Had lots going on lately IVF all sorts of BS and just want to treat myself 😊

What do you think of them?

I don't like them. I generally don't like that style of high fronted loafer. I don't wear trousers and they wouldn't go with most dresses. I'm generally not keen on quilting on shoes and I'm generally not keen on obvious logos - so all in all they do nothing for me.

If you love them , can afford to pay for them outright in cash , don't have debt and have an emergency fund .. why not !

Have you tried them on? I agree that the front comes up quite high.

In terms of style I think they're a bit of a half-way house and neither an elegant slim loafer nor a fully chunky casual one. I struggle to think of many outfits that they'd work with. That's me though, your style may be different.

I don’t personally like those particular shoes, @ivfregret - I do wear trousers, but otherwise @NatashaDancing has already expressed my thoughts.

But if you’re happy with your own choice then certainly buy what you want!

I bought some Chanel loafers years ago and was aghast at the price then….. but they are worth every penny and although I don’t wear them everyday, they look almost new still.

If you can afford them, absolutely go for it. It sounds like you've been through a lot recently & these could be a pick-me-up. Personally I like them objectively, I'm a Chanel fan - especially the 1980s stuff - & these are quite late 1980s to me.

They aren’t my cuppa but if you love them and can afford them go for it!

I would love them without the quilted bit but if you love them buy them - I have many pairs of expensive shoes/bags myself so I understand the thrill of buying luxury items. Once you've made your first designer purchase you won't look back!

If you can afford them, go for it! You're the one who is going to be wearing them so others' opinions are irrelevant.

If you want them, yes. I would buy them, however have never been able to justify Chanel shoes as the sizing is always wrong for my awkward feet.

The quilting is SO Chanel and I think they're gorgeous.
Chanel shoes tend to be quite narrow so fingers crossed you have feet that'll play the game.

Personally I hate them, but if you love them and can afford them then I'm sure you'll get loads of use out of them.
