Chanel loafers thoughts please?

Love these loafers and found them with black logos but they are typically Chanel priced at £1040!

Am I mad to buy them as a present for myself?

Had lots going on lately IVF all sorts of BS and just want to treat myself 😊

What do you think of them?

Chanel loafers thoughts please?

If I saw someone wearing them I'd think they were fakes.

Why? I wouldn't as I think they are well made and can tell a fake personally

I always think that when someone wears an item of clothing with a logo emblazoned on it like the shoes that they are fake. I think it's tacky. Anyway, if you love them, buy them.

Doingmybest12 · 25/04/2023 06:54

I think if you are asking on here then probably look for something else you know you love. They are not my style in any way and I'd never pay that for shoes but that doesn't matter, it is about what you like.

Magnoliainbloom · 25/04/2023 07:31

Both are awful and inelegant. There are so many amazing shoe designers out there, but I suspect you like the bling aspect of having the logo.

Xarrie · 25/04/2023 07:33

Both are too heavy looking for me which makes them fugly.

I'd go classic for £1000 so they don't age. The quilting doesn't quite work.

drumandthebass · 25/04/2023 07:35

I really love a loafer, but take the buckles of those and they look like a pair of "old lady comfy" shoes imo

LizziesTwin · 25/04/2023 07:39

I’d get them and wear them as much as possible.

I think buying a really expensive pair of shoes that you can’t stretch will be what makes you get pregnant, my feet went up about half a size with my first pregnancy and have never gone back.

I wish it was really that easy & hope you have good news on the pregnancy front very soon.

I've now found these 🤣

And they half the price

Thought please?

Oh I love those...less old lady and more on trendy Smile

ivfregret · 25/04/2023 08:06

The Zara ones are lovely - they are a copy of Gucci loafers though. Have you looked at Gucci? They do the best loafers imo.

You can't whack a bit of Zara 😀

sevenbyseven · 25/04/2023 10:02

I actually prefer the look of the Zara ones 😁

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 25/04/2023 10:35

Sure, but they're hideous shoes. If you like them, buy them.

ivfregret · 26/04/2023 07:32

A quick update I bought the Zara ones.

I think they're more on trend and save me £950!!

I figured needing IVF isn't an excuse to be silly 🙃

These look hard and uncomfortable. I love the Chanel loafers. Are they comfortable? If so, absolutely get them!

Sorryyoufeelthatway · 26/04/2023 08:19

If in doubt always treat yourself!

prinnycessa · 26/04/2023 08:20

They are stunning! Treat yourself OP

Just shoes or logos in general?

Probably sensible. I hope you find the Zara loafers really useful, and cross fingers that the extra 950 will come in useful for nappies and nursery fees eventually.

ivfregret · 26/04/2023 08:32

Well I'm so bad I'm already having second thoughts and considering getting both - oh dear. I'll keep you all posted!!

I used to do this a lot, realised it would often have been cheaper to just buy the thing I really wanted in the first place. Personally I wouldn't spend so much on loafers as I feel some of the more basic ones are just as comfy and look just as good; if you feel like you'd still be reaching for them in a decade or 2 though then go for it! Bags on the otherhand...

A quick update I have tried them on currently debating whether to buy. What do you think?

They look lovely! Prefer them with the gold hardware though

ShinyShinyShinyBootsOfLeather · 29/04/2023 17:51

I like them op. I also prefer them with the gold. I'd just check what you'd plan to wear them with. I sometimes fall in love with a single thing and then realise I need a whole new wardrobe to go with it 😂

ivfregret · 29/04/2023 17:56

😂 I definitely prefer the black as they're much more descreet the gold is too much for me and they don't appear to have the gold anyway!
