How to remove HRT patch glue squares on bum!

Hello stylish people

I can't be the only one who ends up with weird squares left on my bum from the glue in the HRT patches.

How do you get it off? I've tried soap and scrubbing obvs, also baby oil, but can't find anything that gets it off quickly.

It helps if it's warm so like in the shower or bath.
Then try just rubbing with your fingers, or moisturiser works.

I find Everol come off with a good scrub but Estradot I needed to use nail varnish remover in the end.

Generally I just don't bother about it and it comes off eventually.

Warm shower or bath to scrub as much as possible off, then I've found that Nuxe oil and a cotton wool pad is the best thing I have to get the remaining bits off! Bonus is, it smells lovely too!

Baby oil on a cotton wool pad works every time. Requires rubbing in different directions!

CryWolf · 22/04/2023 18:23

I leave it tbh. It drives DH mad for some reason but no one else sees it so I’m not bothered.

If I’m having a soak in the bath then a rub with a flannel gets it off, like pp said, the heat really does help, other than that I ignore it. I sometimes place a patch half over it so when I take that one off it takes the old sticky bit off it…whilst leaving a new one.

I tried almost everything in my bathroom cabinet, and find that waterproof eye makeup remover on a cotton pad gets the sticky, fluffy squares off beautifully! To be fair, my Evorel patches don’t leave the whole area sticky, just the edges which seem to pick up fluff from my trousers almost immediately I put a fresh one on.

Agree , I put baby oil on the sticky glue 20 mins before shower then it comes off a treat 🙂

Yep this ^^

Works a treat. But be aware that you won't be able to stick a patch on immediately after you've cleaned it as it stays oily for a while.

Wiccan · 22/04/2023 18:30

I also leave my new patch to stick for an hour before clothes go on then no fibers stick to it .

Moredarkchocolateplease · 22/04/2023 18:34

My patches go on my bum. I just work around them for the next patch. No one sees them except me.

Nightynightnight · 22/04/2023 18:36

I've just been leaving it but went on holiday recently and had to get busy with my nail brush!!

Moredarkchocolateplease · 22/04/2023 18:37

I honestly wouldn't judge anyone with a HRT mark on their bum wearing a bikini. I'd just identify them as a fellow HRT-er!

SpeedyMackechnie · 22/04/2023 18:39

WD-40. Yes, really!!

My hubby calls it my HRT Tattoo 😂

Yup! It works!

CiaoBellisima · 22/04/2023 18:45

Nail varnish remover on a cotton pad, just before you go in the shower.

Moredarkchocolateplease · 22/04/2023 18:45

My DH either hasn't seen mine or noticed them!

I love that HRT tattoo!

Not sure if you're joking ? Yep WD-40 is amazing for a lot of things but some pretty nasty spirit ingredients that shouldn't be near the skin .

timtam23 · 22/04/2023 18:49

Baby oil on cotton wool pad, let baby oil sink into skin for a few seconds then wipe it off and the glue marks will come off easily.

Actually just looked at the back of my skin toner bottle and there's some pretty nasty stuff in that too , so its probably just as damaging 🤣

Irridescantshimmmer · 22/04/2023 18:50

Although I have never used HRT patches yet, I use baby oil to remove the blood glucose sensor adhesives which are an eye sore if there ever was one.

Yeah baby oil may help.

Badtasteflump · 22/04/2023 18:54

I find rubbing over the stuck on bit with the sticky side of the patch you've just removed does the trick. Palmer's cocoa butter solid jar also works but it's really greasy so can only use if you put your new patch on somewhere else this

ElinorDashwood68 · 22/04/2023 19:23

Surgical spirit works for me
