As some of us really enjoyed talking about Chanel on my white bag thread I thought I'd start a Chanel chat thread here 🙂

I'm a lover of all things Chanel - the history of the brand, the life of Gabrielle Chanel herself, & of course the products. It would be great to have like minded others to share our knowledge & wares with 🙂

I’ve only tried one on in the Chanel boutique in Terminal 5 that had a price reduction. However it was too small so that saved me a few £££’s

@Aworldofmyown You don't have to know how to wear it. You don't have to wear it at all. You can just give it to me 😉

Seriously, you can wear a Chanel jacket with anything - smart with a skirt or work trousers, dressed down with jeans, over a dress & anything in between. They're just so classic & so stylish, they go with anything 🙂

Yes, i have a few different fantasy tweed ones. I wear them from time to time,but must admit haven’t recently.

Oh gosh, I sound like a proper spoiled brat now and it’s a bit cringe! But it’s a safe place here for Chanel fans isn’t it?!
I have these. I love them all but I am especially lucky to have “the little black jacket”, designed by Karl Lagerfeld and also have the book that goes with the release of it that he did with Carine Roitfeld. I wear it with anything and everything really.
The blazer I bought pre-owned. It’s from a 2005 collection and Anne Hathaway wore one from the same collection in A Devil Wears Prada.
The black and white one was with a suit but I only have the jacket. It looks good with jeans.

Do you all have to list your stuff separately for home insurance? It's like art really!

Anne Hathaway looks fabulous in that Chanel jacket. Thanks for sharing your wonderful collection.

My handbags are specified items on my home insurance along with some jewellery. I was surprised that it only cost me just over £4 to insure the bag I bought on Tues, that's only until Nov when my policy expires, but it'll only be about £8 for the year & it's insured for £4130, inside & outside the home, theft, accidental damage etc. Mind you I do have a very comprehensive insurance policy - I'm very risk averse & like to be insured to the hilt!

@MummyJ12 Does the clothing age well? Does it look worn after a while or is it like aged calfskin & looks the same as when you bought it even years later?!

this is absolutely timeless!

It ages really well. The buttons loosened on my little black jacket and I need to take it back to my seamstress because she sewed them to secure them and didn’t line up the CCs so they were straight. I have major issues don’t I?! 😂 other than that they are all good as new. A testament to the quality. I don’t take them anywhere where they’d get smelly and have to admit to not wanting to dry clean them though. And I keep them in their Chanel suit bags so I look after them. 🥰

I also have a few clothing items that I have had dry cleaned and they are still in perfect condition.

Our insurance company has all of my items listed but it’s getting steep now I have to admit! We are just looking into putting a secure safe/vault style door on our dressing room and it’s going to double up as a panic room, the insurance says that they can bring our premium down if we do that. It’s where we keep all of our valuables (my husband is massively into his watches) so it sounds like a good idea.

Possibly outing but my partner works in the luxury watch world & she has a safe/panic room. She has blanket coverage for when she has/stores insanely priced items that I tell her not to tell me about 😱

I think if I carry on I'm going to be joining her in installing something similar!
