I'm going to Chanel tomorrow...

I posted recently about my intention to buy a white bag. I was considering one from Launer, but in truth what I'd really love is another Chanel 😬

I've been going round the houses having conversations with myself in my head ("it's a white bag, it'll get dirty, you'd be mad to spend Chanel money on a white bag, yes I know but I just love Chanel more than any other, look at the joy I've got from my 2.55, well yes but...") 😀

I've got the opportunity to go to a Chanel store tomorrow. My SA says she has the mini 2.55 in white available to show me, & a few others too. I'm not sure whether the mini would be too small - I think I have the medium 2.55 & I do like that size. I need to see it in the flesh. And possibly spend a lot of money

If anyone wants to talk Chanel please do so! I posted on here when I bought my 2.55 & people were lovely, right from me having the first notion of getting one to posting a photo of my purchase when I unboxed it at home a couple of weeks later!

Does anyone have a mini? How do they come up for size? I've watched some reviews which say that because they're single flaps they actually feel almost as capacious as a standard double flap.

Chanel bags are a better investment than property these days in terms of % return. If you’re going to spend £££ on a luxe accessory, it may as well be one that will appreciate in value.

@Ravageur This Mini 2.55 is perfect as a cross body, but works well on the shoulder with the double strap too, it sits a little higher than the medium double flap 2.55 but is perfectly comfortable. It looks great on the single strap - very 1980s 😀

I tried the Mini Classic but I couldn't easily get my arm through that to wear the strap doubled up. I do find the Classic straps come up considerably shorter. The 2.55 works much better for me all round 🙂

I know someone who bought a single flap for £500 many moons ago! If only we had a time machine eh?!

Chanel is so unique. I just love the story of Gabrielle's life, the choices she made, the way she influenced women's lives. She was quite an astounding person - such drive, ambition & talent.

The shoes sound amazing. Can I ask how much they were? I'm very heavy footed 😬 & I'm always reluctant to spend a lot on footwear as I seem to trash shoes very quickly! I've also got huge hooves - 8/9. But some Chanel ones would be amazing. As my Gran would say, wear them in good health 🙂

I got them in Dublin so it was Euro but it translated to approx £730
I was over the moon to find them in stock . I'd made enquiries at Christmas and they had so little stock , and I'm a popular size.

I was also weary of white leather bag purchase but I guess this how one does white leather in style. The reissue is a classic, under the radar, quality bag. Enjoy your purchases!

Sorry for the delay - yesterday evening turned out to be insanely busy & this morning has been no different!

I've attached a photo here, I hope you can see it 📷

I went for the Mini 2.55 in white which this season comes with antique gold metal. I surprised myself by actually really liking that option. It didn't come in silver this year but I think that would have made it look too cold. In previous years they have had it with black metal or ruthenium & I know I definitely wouldn't have liked either of those, not on white. The matte antique gold is IMHO rather sophisticated, & will work perfectly with navy, red, & that whole 1980s/nautical look that I love.

I was in Selfridges in Manchester & this is one of only two Mini 2.55's in white that they have had this year. the other sold in Feb. The SA checked & there was one left in Bond St & that's it for the UK. So it's been a very limited production & I was lucky to get one.

I went for the purse at the same time as the SA checked & it was literally the only one in the UK! I didn't buy the purse when I bought my medium black 2.55 in 2021 & then had to search for it later. That wasn't difficult as they usually have one in stock in each boutique but this was clearly different & very limited so it was now or never!

The purse has champagne gold metal but I don't mind as I think it's complementary. I said on my other thread that I don't like inconsistency but it occurs to me that I don't mind that when it comes to Chanel, I think that's partly because Gabrielle herself mixed things up but it all had a common theme & pulled together well. So it doesn't matter that my bags are both 2.55s & my purses are both Classics with the interlocked CC, because they are all definitively Chanel & work together.

After I left the store I nipped to & Other Stories & Zara but thankfully didn't find anything as my credit card was fanning itself to cool down 😀

This is absolutely beautiful! The mini is my favourite size. I love that yours is chevron rather than quilted too. I have a caviar jumbo in white but hoping to add a smaller sized white Chanel to my collection as I've fallen out of love with the jumbo size at the moment. Congratulations on your bag! 😍

@Lykia The thing is they never come down in price, they only go up. When I paid £6050 for my 2.55 in 2021 I was aghast at how much it had increased in price in recent years & wished I'd bought one before. But I learned today that it would now cost £9500, so I'm glad I got it when I did!

I'm not trying to persuade anyone to spend money, but if anyone is considering one I'd get it sooner rather than later. It might be expensive now but it's only going to get worse 😬

My Sa said they will be slowing the production of smaller bags as they are labour intensive. He also said that price increases will slow down but classic flaps will be harder to come by and they will be a big push towards seasonal bags. 😬 Essentially classic flaps will end up being the birkin/Kelly of Chanel and seasonal bags will be what everybody buys in the hope of being able to get a classic flap!

I think this Mini will be very practical actually, I do prefer a small to medium bag. I carry very little with me, I couldn't cope with one of those everything-but-the-kitchen-sink bags 😀
