I'm going to Chanel tomorrow...

I posted recently about my intention to buy a white bag. I was considering one from Launer, but in truth what I'd really love is another Chanel 😬

I've been going round the houses having conversations with myself in my head ("it's a white bag, it'll get dirty, you'd be mad to spend Chanel money on a white bag, yes I know but I just love Chanel more than any other, look at the joy I've got from my 2.55, well yes but...") 😀

I've got the opportunity to go to a Chanel store tomorrow. My SA says she has the mini 2.55 in white available to show me, & a few others too. I'm not sure whether the mini would be too small - I think I have the medium 2.55 & I do like that size. I need to see it in the flesh. And possibly spend a lot of money

If anyone wants to talk Chanel please do so! I posted on here when I bought my 2.55 & people were lovely, right from me having the first notion of getting one to posting a photo of my purchase when I unboxed it at home a couple of weeks later!

Does anyone have a mini? How do they come up for size? I've watched some reviews which say that because they're single flaps they actually feel almost as capacious as a standard double flap.

I actually use a white Chanel as my 'everyday' bag. But it's a drawstring top bucket bag so it's a bit (lot) more robust than a lamb skin classic for example
Love love Chanel. Haven't bought a new one for some time and I miss that new bag feeling!

2.55 is my dream bag too . I wish I had pulled the trigger when I first discovered Chanel , I was nervous to spend 1k - if only I'd known what was to come.
There are some rumblings about quality but I've never had any issues with my purchases and you obviously examine the item carefully.
I've had a few small items over the years . I picked up a mini black satin in 2008 for £600, I wonder what that's worth now.
After much deliberation and a million YouTube reviews I recently treated myself to the black ballet flats , I can't wait to rock those this summer.
Chanel is just unique , it's so very magical.
It's lovely to find a thread with like minded people . S&B can be a bit scathing about luxury sometimes .

I once saw a beautiful green chevron bag, think it was a boy but can't remember. All I remember was the shade of green was perfect.

Chanel is so unique. I just love the story of Gabrielle's life, the choices she made, the way she influenced women's lives. She was quite an astounding person - such drive, ambition & talent.

The shoes sound amazing. Can I ask how much they were? I'm very heavy footed 😬 & I'm always reluctant to spend a lot on footwear as I seem to trash shoes very quickly! I've also got huge hooves - 8/9. But some Chanel ones would be amazing. As my Gran would say, wear them in good health 🙂

The one thing they warned me about in Chanel was colour transfer from denim, especially indigo denim. They suggested I test any dark new clothing that the bag might be exposed to. I bought a white blazer this morning & will wear it over that until I'm confident I think! (The blazer is jersey, so in keeping with Chanel, but at £29.99 in New Look it was a lot more affordable 😀)

@Ravageur I'd say in between hip & waist on me. I'm 5' 5.5" if that helps...I do find that my medium 2.55 double flap feels too big to be comfortably worn cross body but this Mini is perfect for that. The Classic - the one with the interlocked CC - has a shorter strap & definitely wouldn't have worked cross body on me.

Calfskin often comes from calves that are kept in veal crates (which are illegal in the UK) - the crates are intentionally so small and do not allow the animal to move, even to turn around, to keep their skin blemish free. As calfskin and lambskin for premium brands is so profitable it is the main product - ie the animals are farmed just for their skin. Meat is a byproduct.
Absolutely no better ethically than wearing fur.

I agree the staff at Manchester Selfridges are great. In truth, & without stereotyping northerners (I am one!) I find them more 'real' than those who work in the London boutiques. I think they have a slower turnover of staff too, there seems to be someone different every time I go into Bond St or Sloane St, whereas it's always the same team in Manchester.

I love my new bag. Now machinating how to get a navy one 😀

I have a Grand Shopping Tote Caviar from the early 2000's and haven't worn it in over a decade.

You've inspired me to revisit it.
