Is Joules sizing massive?

I wanted a couple of relaxed fit sweatshirts in springy colours. I've never ordered from Joules before as its a bit mumsy for me generally, but they had a lovely yellow one. I'm a 10, but not a little 10, I'm quite stocky and muscular. I ordered a 10, Its huge. Not just around waist, also the shoulders, upper arms, across boobs, just massive. Not sure if its just a mistake with this item or if they are massively oversized and I should be ordering an 8 or even a 6 from them?

It's not just you. I've found the sizes come up big compared to other brands.

It isn't just you. I find their sizes generous too and on a few of their tops/jumpers they're quite boxy too.

You need to read the reviews on their website. I always judge by that. I have a couple of their cotton t shirt dresses, ime they are normal to small, but I do have a large chest and I need all the room I can get to accommodate my boobs. 😂 I went with the larger size as the reviews indicated I'd need the bigger one.

I think they come up big but as @hexsnidgett says that sweatshirt looks like a relaxed fit to me!

It’s a sweatshirt, they’re always baggy? Not sure exactly what fit you were expecting. By all means return it and try an 8 if you want it to be smaller but I’m not sure why it warrants a thread.

Honesty it really doesn't fit! The huge rolls of material lying on the upper arms give them the look of a babies chubby thigh rolls! And I don't have rolls around my waist, that's all just material. Admittedly Its not the best photo because we've got the builders in so I'm skulking in the utility room, and the 7 year old took it, but trust me, its massive

It’s supposed to be a “relaxed fit” sweatshirt, that looks like it fits you in a “relaxed” style to me.

I find their stuff true to size. Very occasionally size down.

No, if any they come up a little small and certainly shrink with some washing. As you bought a relaxed fit sweater though I'd expect it to be oversized so that doesn't look huge at all

That's how I'd expect a sweater to look. It doesn't look too big on you. It would look odd if it were any smaller, imo.

I find they are on the generous side but I'd say that's the right size sweatshirt for you, they aren't supposed to be skin tight. If anything I'd size up in a sweatshirt.

It just looks a bit long in the arms. It’s snug around the hips, it’s supposed to be baddy around the waist. I think a size down would be too small.

I think people are aware enough of clothing and sweatshirts to know that they gather around the middle, and that its not your body around the middle, what do you think people are?

It looks like a sweatshirt is meant to look (which is why I dont personally like them, I dont think they look nice on anyone)

It fits you but as someone else said I dont know why you started the thread.

I also think its the wrong fit for what you want rather than size - it looks fine on your hips but it does look baggy above your waist, which is the cut, we are similar shape I think, and this wouldn't be flattering on me either.

Having had a quick Google at "relaxed fit sweatshirts" that looks to be how they are. Maybe try one size down and see if that's what you're after.

I find them true to size.
I'd say the problem with that one is the elasticated (?) part round the bottom is tighter so it maybe makes you feel that the rest is too big. I think it's a style issue rather than a size one.

If you Google yellow superdry relaxed sweatshirt they have a nice one on sale I noticed
