Is Joules sizing massive?

I wanted a couple of relaxed fit sweatshirts in springy colours. I've never ordered from Joules before as its a bit mumsy for me generally, but they had a lovely yellow one. I'm a 10, but not a little 10, I'm quite stocky and muscular. I ordered a 10, Its huge. Not just around waist, also the shoulders, upper arms, across boobs, just massive. Not sure if its just a mistake with this item or if they are massively oversized and I should be ordering an 8 or even a 6 from them?

I like hush for well-fitting sweatshirts. I have a lovely pale green one from there.

Sweatshirts are supposed to be baggy, aren’t they? It looks like a ‘relaxed fit’ to me. I’ve only ever owned a coat from Jules and that was true to size, I found.

When it says ‘relaxed fit’ it will be slightly oversized as that’s kind of ‘in’

TBH I’d expect a relaxed fit sweatshirt to be much more roomy than that! I think it’s an odd shape- the arms are too long, and the elasticated bottom is too tight.

Yes that's what is wrong. The baggyness is meant to be like that for a relaxed fit sweater but it's actually too small/tight at the hip which makes it sit wrongly. I always find joules slightly small rather than come up large

Beware tho that Hush sizing is very big so size down for sure. OP Ia agree with others it doesn't look that big. Could you, instead of pulling the bottom down, kinda of put it underneath and that will soften out the front of it a bit. I saw a lovely heavy long sleeve tshirt in M&S that was yellow with Merci on the front, that you might like. Again... generous sizing! It really is ridiculous and even worse when apparently model is wearing a ten, when she's clearly a size 6!

Joules sizing is awful! Everything is about 3 sizes smaller than it says! I'm the same size evvvvverywhere except at Joules where I'm 3 sizes bigger!

I'm a bit as to why you're wearing a sweatshirt sent directly from 1981 though?

If its anything like the rare Joules bits I buy it will shrink the first time you wash it on 40 deg!

OP, come back and show us what the Hush one looks like on you when it arrives, I’m invested now. I agree with you, the first one looked really odd on you - not just “relaxed” as others are saying.

The top looks normal for a relaxed fit but looks like the band at the bottom is too tight, Mayb the next size up might fit better.

That's true, perhaps a real oversized sweatshirt.. However I would never have the band down like that, I always have that underneath so I think that would make a difference.

Yes I'm a size 8 or small 10 and I buy a size 6 from Joules. Very generous!

I actually think it looks ok though I wear sweatshirts like that and they are my proper size. They are supposed to look a bit loose.
